Great battery back up 2008-05-29
The battery has excellent life and allows one to take more than 500 shots in a day. I took arround 500 shots and the battery was around 35%, which meant I could have taken another 100 more!!

Good battery 2008-05-28
I bought this for the Sony A700. It works as described and has a rather long life. Would recommend to others.

Awesome capacity. Everything I wanted in a battery. 2008-05-17
I bought the Sony Alpha 300 and got another battery as a backup (so now I have 2). I thought I would be swapping out batteries like crazy (we do with our consumer digital camera) but have been very pleasantly surprised. I've shot over 600 RAW+JPEGs with and without flash this week and the charge is just under 50%. Awesome.

I still recommend getting a second battery because you'll have the extra on-hand when you need it. It's just that you won't need it every other day unless you shoot a few thousand shots a day.

Great Battery; worth the price. 2007-11-08
Sony is again the company to look for with great products. I have experience with the Sony DSLR camers and the previous battery, (FM55), which was a great battery to use. I was loving the length of time I got from the battery but this one goes even stronger. This newer battery blows the lid off the amount of pictures. Once I could get around 900 shots now I can get about 1500 shots depending on flash usage and setup. If you need a battery with the stamina to keep pace with your picture taking this is it. It's even backwards compatible with the older Alpha 100 but the 100 battery will not work in the Alpha 700.

NPFM500H Battery Pack 2008-06-30
Very satisfied with item. Easier to have multiple batteries when shooting a great deal of pictures.

Works well 2008-06-21
Awesome. Works well. We've taken many pictures of our newborn daughter with it and she's always cute. Not sure if that's the battery or just her natural cuteness making her cute, but it is sony, and you know how crafty those sony engineers are...

Great Stamina! 2008-06-16
Very good battery life. I was able to photograph an entire 6 to 7 hour Wedding without changing the battery once. I bought two of these batteries, but probably only needed to buy one because the life is better than I thought. Oh well, it's better to have too many batteries than too little...Also, this battery definitely lasts longer than the original battery that came with my Sony A-100.

If you need one 2008-06-13
I bought this as a backup. Haven't had to use it as the battery supplied with the camera is going strong and is more than enough capacity for the usual family, grandkid pics. If you are planning a vacation or overseas venture I'd definitely recommend having the backup.

ridiculously priced 2008-06-01
ridiculously priced, but what else do you expect from Sony. Buy that spare because you can't drop in a couple of AAs if you run out. And don't forget the $55 remote release.

Review: ... "Click! The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras" is misnamed. It covers a lot more than just cameras. In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

From the Back Cover The megapixel hype
The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
