Good Choice - Very pleased with this speaker 2008-08-29
I am very pleased with the simplicity and performance of this speaker system. It, by far, blows the doors off the factory speakers on the TV. I set it up in a 14' x 17' [Bar] room with little to absord/mute sound (i.e., tile floors, wooden window shutters, and minimal furniture). It perfoms excellently. Setup couldn't be simpler, and the fact that it easily synched with the existing TV remote was awesome. Sound quality is 1st rate. Crisp, clear, and sufficiently loud. The wireless sub-woofer puts out more than enough bass to work in a room twice this size. Did have a problem with the wireless sub-woofer signal interfering with the wireless TV broadcast signal I initially planned to use. Couldn't receive the TV broadcast on any switch setting combination. Forced me to break down and get an actual satellite receiver for the TV - didn't break my heart any, as I now have far better picture & sound quality. The wireless conflict made it much easier to convince my wife that we needed a satellite hook-up in that room - my hope all along! Do experience occasional buzzing when first turning on speaker. Usually disappears by hitting mute on/off once. Annoying, but could be my TV causing the problem.

boston acoustics sound bar 2008-08-16
Boston Acoustics TVee Model 2 Stereo "sound bar" speaker with wireless woofer SilverI bought the sound bar to go in my living room with it being hooked up to my Philips 37 inch lcd tv. I have dish so in order to hook up the sound bar ,i had to buy a a/b swich since my tv had no out-put connection.(had 3 in-puts)After hooking it up.The reviews i read were right on. Its not the best but for my needs it does the job. I get a strong sound with deep bass and the best is not a lot of wires. For the price i paid i am happy. jose

Perfect for Rooms Where you Don't Want Clutter 2008-08-03
The Boston Acoustics TVee Speaker System is perfect for rooms where you don't want a lot of speakers cluttering up the room. I installed the main bar below my flat screen TV in the bedroom and the wireless bass under the bed. The result: Excellent sound. Sometimes I can hear the sound coming from the sides of the room so it is bouncing off the walls like it said, giving it almost a suround sound experience when shows are broadcasting in 5.1. It was very easy to set up, but I couldn't get the DirecTV remote to work as the volume control--it would only accept one feature: volume up or down, or mute. I was able to program the television remote to work the volume. Reason I didn't give it a 5: Sometimes the remote isn't quite as responsive to change the volume level, although I was able to get it to accept a signal about 15 ft away. Also, sometimes, for some commercials, there is an echo (even though I have the TV speakers turned off). This is solved when the commercial is over or sometimes when you turn off the TV and turn it back on it seems to be fine. There's only one input for sound, but I have plenty of inputs on my TV, so that's not an issue for me.

I really like this product. It has greatly enhanced the sound quality vrs the small speakers found in most TVs today. I highly recommend it for rooms where you don't want the expense and clutter of a separate home theater sound system.

Not bad 2008-07-24
What is thought of as a "subwoofer" is actually a woofer as it in no way delivers subsonic sound. Other than that it is a big improvement over regular TV speakers, and I am enjoying it very much.

Good Concept - Deficient Execution 2008-07-02
Bought this product to enhance speakers in a newly purchased LCD TV. DIdn't want to get a full blown home theater system, and this unit with the wireless woofer seemed the perfect solution. But, it has now been returned as the remote control of the speaker sound and mute feature failed to work from my easy chair about 10 feet away. Seemed to work fine when I initially trained it to respond to my TV remote, but then I was only 4 to 5 feet away from the unit. That seems to be the range for accurate response. Can not recommend this item unless you are using in a compact setting, or that you know your TV connection supports volume adjustment. Would have been nice to have more connection options to the unit.

Company is unresponsive to problems 2008-05-14
Boston Acoustics is the most unresponsive company I have ever dealt with. The speaker will not change volume unless you hold the remote within 3 feet of it. I have made eight calls to the company and not been able to talk to anyone and they don't return a call. After three days they finally responded to an e-mail. They told me how to take it apart and change the lens over the infrared sensor but warned me that is was a little dangerous.
This apparently is a known problem which they shipped anyway. Because of their lack of response, I am returning it.

Review 2008-03-08
This product performs as expected with one exception: The infrared sensor for the remote requires me to be closer to the unit than my seating position allows. Other than that, it is excellent. It has great sound, increased bass, and generally improves the entire viewing experience.

It is not surround sound, but if you are researching and paying attention you already realize that. If you did not already realize that, you have serious comprehension problems and do not understand what I have written anyway.

Good for What It Is 2008-02-25
I bought the Boston Acoustics TVee Speaker to pair with my Panasonic TH-50PX75U which I put in our bedroom. It's a great no-fuss solution to add full sound without having to run wires everywhere (a must in the bedroom).

The soundbar is a simple and clean design that fits well with the black colored tv. I have it sitting on a shelf right underneath the plasma. From taking it from the box, to setting it up and operating it with the remote took 5 minutes. BA got that part right for sure. Soundwise, it is clear and crisp, and decent bass from the woofer. It's not full surround, so if that it what you are looking for, don't buy this. But for this price range, there isn't anything comparable that gives you a solid upgrade over the small underpowered speakers of a flat panel display. Being able to program your tv remote to control the TVee Speaker is a huge bonus. Mine programmed exactly as the instructions said. That being said, there are two quirks that can be a little annoying:
1. If you manually control the volume using the volume buttons on the soundbar, or use the ones on the tv, the volume could get out of sync with the remote (e.g, the tv thinks the volume is turned down all the way, when it's not on the bar). The easiest way to control for that is to either a) make sure your speakers on the tv are turned off, or b) always use the remote to control volume
2. I find you have to be within a range of 10 feet or so in order for the remote to control the volume of the soundbar. The remote works the tv anywhere I am in the room, but only the soundbar if I am within the 10 ft radius. Since I sit in bed 12 feet away, I have to lean forward to control the volume.

Pros:
- Great look (for the soundbar)
- Solid sound for movies and tv
- wireless sub woofer allows you to hide it easily (needs to be plugged in)
- 100 watts of power, so good for medium sized rooms
- Very easy set up
- Uses your TV remote, so don't have to add another remote to your collection
- Powers on and off with the TV, so don't have to turn something else on

Cons
- Remote quirks (see above for details)
- Subwoofer looks like an upside down trash can (but I hide it under the bed so not a big deal)

Over all, I think it's a solid performer for the class, and a great solution for better sound than the tv for medium rooms. I wouldn't get this for my home theater room, that requires something more powerful and full surround capability.

Boston Acoustics Sound Bar 2008-02-13
Wanted surround sound for my wife, who is hard of hearing, but couldn't bear the thought of six speaker boxes, with wires, in my living room. This was a low-cost alternative to the Polk Audio and Yamaha products. I'm happy with the results. You don't get the separation of a 6-speaker set, but the sound is really good with 5.1 sources. I buried most of the wiring in my wall, so the wiring is very clean - only a couple inches of cable between the TV and speaker bar are visible. I have recommended this product to my friends.
