New Features -- Where Am I? Where's My Car?
The nüvi 700 series is the first to answer two common questions: "Where am I?" and "Where’s my car?"
At any time, with a single tap of the screen, drivers can display their exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations. And to help drivers find their car in an unfamiliar spot or vast parking lot, all nüvi 700s automatically mark the position in which they were last removed from the mount.
New Features -- Multi-Destination Routing
This lets you enter several spots into the device (day care - supermarket-cleaners - office - day care, for example) and it will plot the fastest route. And once you've found the best router, the "Route Planning" feature lets you save up to 10 different routes, Garmin touts the feature for providing, "the most efficient route for errands, deliveries and sales calls." The feature also makes this an instant essential accessory for anyone who shops garage sales (you know what we're talking about).
A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you've been on the map.
See Better, See More
The super-bright, 4.3-inch (diagonal) touchscreen display gives is anti-glare for ease of viewing during the day and automatically changes its color profile for easy viewing at night or in dim light. It offers 2d or 3D perspective views.
The widescreen format gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

Garmin Nuvi

Bought one as a gift for my father and liked it so much bought one for myself. Only down side is the loading time is not as quick as a factory installed unit, however it is accurate and works well.
This Rocks

This is the first GPS that I have ever owned or operated and I LOVE it!!! This is one of the best investments that I have ever made. It is a blast geocaching and traveling with this little guy. If there was anything that I would add to this GPS, it would be some sort of dinger to let you know when the next turn is coming, but you just have to pay close attention. GREAT BUY1

I bought this item for my husband for Father's Day, but I use it all the time! It's great and so easy to use. I've become addicted to it, even when I know where I'm going.

I have used the garmin twice now and found it very helpful both times. It got me to my location very easily and quickly.
The only thing I don't like is the instructions as I seem to get lost trying to navigate through the device itself.[[ASIN:B000UXDFN6 Garmin nüvi 750 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator
My First GPS
2008-07-07
I researched hard & long before purchasing my very first GPS, the Garmin Nuvi 750 last week. I read a lot of reviews and debated between this, the 760 and the 660. I wanted the 750 over the 660 for the "Where Am I?" feature (which I love) and the fact the 750 was $299 at Sam's Club, the only one of these three models under $300.
At first, it took a very long time to acquire signal, but then I read online that you had to turn on a new GPS, let it find the signal and then leave it on and still for at least 30 minutes. So I did that a few times and then these past few times I have turned it on, the signal was there as soon as the unit powered on. So we will see if that continues.
I have a convertible and even with the top down, I can see my screen clearly. It calculates and recalculates quickly and I am contacting Garmin this week to try to get a free 2009 map update.
I love everything about it, but haven't used the FM signal. I have an input jack in my car stereo, so I am anxious to get a cable and give that a try. The suction mount I put on my dash and it looks very natural and fits my New Beetle perfectly!
So far - so good!
Good but not great

I love the GPS unit!
not as pleased with the retailer, I did not see anywhere in the description that the unit was a refurb, they said it was new but it is a bit deceptive to infer "new" when it is a refurb.
Everything else about the seller was great!
This GPS makes me feel like riding a Batmobile.

The sophisticate, accurate, smart and delicate features that this GPS offers is great. If money is available, I highly recommend this GPS to those who have hard time finding places on their own.
First opinion
2008-07-13
The shipment arrived promptly. After charging the Garmin it aquired the satellites far more rapidly than my Garmin V. Also it easily maintained contact when I moved into the house. I like the QWERTY keyboard option. The documentation supplied was only the rapid start type. For more information I had to download the manual from the internet. The directions were good. I especially liked the suggestion of moving to the right or left of the highway to ease the next turn.

I'm still learning all the features on this but it was most helpful on a recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was very glad I'd bought it.
A Really Nice GPS
2008-07-12
I actually bought this as a gift, but I think I may keep this and give my Garmin 350 away instead. That is how much I like this. I actually see no difference between the Garmin 750 and the Garmin 350 except with the line of features that the 750 has to offer.
First off the problems as I see it which aren't many. The audible sounds with the 750 needs a big boost. Garmin must do something here with a patch. I can hear the sounds alright, but even with the sound turned up to 100% it just is not loud enough for my liking. Also, I think Garmin should have included a GPS holder and an AC adapter for charging. In my case I already have these items so this is not a big deal.
Once I downloaded the firmware which is essential to do, I must have gotten lucky or something since I have been able to acquire satellites within 1 minute so far.
So where does this differ from the Garmin 350. The Garmin 750 does not have the flip-up antenna on the back of the unit. The 750 of course is widescreen, has a brighter screen and you now have the abilty to navigate to multiple destinations. I also own the TOM TOM 920 and as much as I like the 920, I have discovered that the 920 screen washes out in direct sunlight. Well, with the Garmin 750 this is not the case and the 750 screen shows brightly in all sunlight and conditions. You also have the abilty to change the keyboard layout to a Qwerty.
There are a few more features like FM transmission which because of the sound issue mentioned above may be a wasted feature unless this issue of sound is corrected. Yes my Tom Tom has more features, but I am really liking the Garmin 750 so far.
