Didn't Quite Rock...

I had high expectations for this game, hoping it would hit many different aspects of creating and managing a rock band. Mostly, it was a "point-and-click" fest. You get to pick some unusual characters as your lead singer, drummer, bass guitarist, guitarist and keyboarder. Make sure to give the band a cool name (some of the names automatically generated by the game seemed forced, e.g. "Blaknote"). Then you start touring locally playing certain dives and parties. You make some money (generated by a percentage of profit you can set - too high, however, and the place might not book you). Keep moving from place to place in your old beaten up van and make more money. Eventually, you get to record some songs at a studio, make some CDs, play for some birthday parties and watch your band play a song over and over through an annoying (and long) "video" take. Eventually you move up to higher levels, gaining loyal fans, playing regions and eventually the entire country. You also get to upgrade equipment and travel methods when you make enough money. You can have the bandmates write new songs, practice fan favorites, or practice any songs. Eventually, they will tire and must rest. What I found I was doing most of the time was clicking. Click on a venue to play there. Click on a band member and make them practice. Click on an instrument and buy it. The second time I played the game I had saved up enough money to buy my guitar player a new guitar. When I purchased it, the game obviously had a bug, because I had unlimited money and lost my entire fan base (this was after playing for about an hour). Very frustrating.
What would have been nice is to see this game a little more developed (and less buggy). I would have liked to had the option to create songs, not just song titles. All in all, I'd say not a total waste, but you will probably only get a few hours of enjoyment out of this game.

Very fun, addicting game where you act as the manager of one of five Rock Bands. My favorite is the electropunk band Avenpitch. Music fans as well as PC gamers should like playing this game.
