Thermofocus is the most modern, advanced and safe device to measure body temperature. It is both convenient and easy to use. Indeed, it is the first "non-contact? medical thermometer. The device enables the temperature of adults and children to be taken without touching the skin, simply by moving the thermometer close to the forehead at the distance indicated by the device.With Thermofocus there is no need to place the thermometer in any part of your or your baby?s body. A sleeping baby or patient will not be woken when Thermofocus is used nor will they be caused any discomfort by the device if they are awake.

It's a nifty little unit that does not require insertion in a body cavity. It appears accurate but I have not checked it out thorougly. It's OK for my purposes as a schoolnurse: Does the student have a fever? About how high is it. I then use a inner ear meter to check more accurately.

I was given this infrared thermometer as a tester equipment for my school health office. I service the medically fragile students and this has been a very nice, accurate, fast temp taking thermometer. It reads in less than 3 seconds and is quite accurate if used properly. Just read the directions. I like that it never touches a student's body/mouth therefore no spread of germs between patients. I may buy one for my home use. KMRN
