Editorial Review
The Apple Keyboard has been completely redesigned to feature an elegant, ultra-thin anodized aluminum enclosure with low-profile keys that provide a crisp, responsive feel. It also has function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, fast-forward and rewind, Expose and Dashboard. Its extended layout includes document navigation controls and a numeric keypad. Two USB 2.0 ports provide high-speed connectivity for your iPod, Mighty Mouse, digital camera and other USB-based electronic devices.

Looks great; Poor Performance 2008-07-10
Keyboard constantly sticks, and I find I'm spending as much time going backwards to fix mistakes as I spend going forward. At first I thought it was because it was new. Well, I've been using it regularly since Christmas; and it's still sticking. I've been a rapid touch typist for over 30 years. I HATE this keyboard and am on amazon right now trying to find a replacement.

Slick--in more ways than one. 2008-07-03
Frankly, I was surprised at how thin the keyboard is, and now I'm pleasantly surprised at the cost of a replacement (especially since I have a heavy touch that wears out key action fast). But my previous iMac keyboard fit perfectly into the concave area underneath my computer table, the thickness of the keyboard supplying just enough uplift and foundation to make the keys easily accessible and the keyboard secure. I've had to reconfigure my work space to accommodate this thin slab, and thus far have not been very successful in raising its profile while simultaneously securing its base. It "repositions" itself and, in the heat of action, occasionally squirts loose from its moorings, slipping off its (admittedly) makeshift foundation and dangling in mid-air by its cable, the other end still attached to the USB input of the computer. Looks like the attractive price of another keyboard will be offset by the cost of a new computer table.

Fantastic typing comfort! 2008-07-03
Apple's new keyboard design is so much more than just good looks. I spend most of the day at my computer, and I can't get over how much more comfortable it is to use this keyboard.

The actual key-press is shorter -- the key travels less distance up and down -- yet, the tactile feedback is such that you don't get the feeling you're using a laptop keyboard. The pressure required to press the key is perfect -- I don't accidentally double-tap keys, but I don't have to pound them either.

Also, the keyboard is so flat that I discarded my foam wrist rest, and can rest my entire forearm on the desk in front of the keyboard and type in ergonomic bliss.

The keyboard's two USB ports are USB 2.0, though they do note that if you plug in high-power devices such as an iPod, you must have an aluminum-finish new iMac or better.

Some of the Apple-specific keys have been relocated or reassigned, which takes some getting used to, but overall the layout's better I think -- the volume keys (which I use constantly) are now right over the delete key, so you don't have to reach over to the numeric keypad to hit them. I also used to bump the eject key all the time with my mouse cord when it was right on the outer corner, and now that's over by the delete key too.

Fantastic keyboard but not transportable 2008-06-30
I love the design of this keyboard. As many have mentioned, it is very easy to type on and large enough for regular usage. I do like the keypad as well. One reason I wanted the keyboard for use with my MacBook Air is so that I could do data entry and I have a much easier time with a keypad.

The only reason I wouldn't give this keyboard 5 stars is that the keyboard is just slightly too long for normal sized briefcases. It makes portability difficult.

Thank you Apple! 2008-06-30
Simply an amazing keyboard - Apple really got the design and ergonomics right on this device. When you consider that the keyboard is one of the primary ways that you interact with your computer, it really becomes pertinent to have a comfortable and nice keyboard. Big improvement over the prior product and a beautiful design as well!

Best Keyboard I've Ever Used 2008-07-18
I started typing on the great IBM Correcting Selectric II, and I've had all manner of computer keyboards over the years. This keyboard is simply the best. I wasn't sure I'd like it when it arrived with my iMac. It is beautiful, but I was concerned it wouldn't hold up in the long term. 8 months later, with heavy, daily use, I can comfortably say it'll hold up just fine. It's a bit heavier than you might expect, given its thinness, and that's a good thing. The slab of metal keeps it rock solid with no sponginess whatsoever. Easy touch, and the keys feel great, even though they appear to be flat (they don't really feel flat, though.

Apple Keyboard works great with MacBook 2008-07-12
I got the Apple keyboard for my MacBook to make it easier to enter data. This keyboard works perfectly for me. the key layout is a little different but it took very little time to orient myself to the different key positions. It does take full power to run so I had to plug it into a USB port on my MacBook and not into a little 4-port hub I have but that didn't cause any issues - I had the spare port. It also comes with a USB extender so that I could put the keyboard on the keyboard tray on my desk and loop the cord all the way through the desk to the port. Now when I put my MacBook there, I just plug in the USB and I'm up and running. I love it!

Great Keyboard 2008-07-11
A small functional, easy to use keyboard. As with any new tool, a little time was needed to get used to the differences, but well worth it.

Disappointing triumph of style over substance 2008-07-10
This keyboard and mouse came with my new iMac. Stylish in aluminum, sleek to behold. But for touch typing, just awful. Flat keys spaced close together (not tapered with concave tops like all else, including my PowerBook and older Macs)make accurate typing very difficult. Same with the 10 key pad. The optical mouse doesn't track very well and the scroll button failed on the down motion after two months. A big disappointment from Mac which has always had high quality well designed hardware. I replaced with a Logitech S530 wireless set (excellent with many more controls and great with Leopard OSX) and was glad to put these things away.

Nice Keyboard 2008-07-10
I bought this keyboard because of the small footprint and the other reviews I had read on Amazon. I am not disappointed. I find the keyboard easy to type on and it does not slow me down at all. I am used to working on a laptop much of the time and the keyboard feel reminds me of that only with a little more space.
