So Noisy I thought a Drive Had Gone Bad 2008-08-06
Don't let the sturdy metal appearance fool you. At about the 30 day mark, this pad starts making sounds like a disk drive gone bad. If that wasn't enough the USB hub seems to work on a sporadic, "when it feels like it" basis. All in all, this is one occasion when this isn't affordable...it's just plain cheap. Avoid it! Avoid it! Avoid it!

If you must have a usb hub and notebook fan pad in one go with this one from TargusTargus AWE12US Notebook Chill Hub. Yes, it's more, but it is much quieter and its hub WORKS!!!

Not Great for a 17in Laptop 2008-07-03
The manufacturer stated this notebook cooling pad/hub was fine for 17in laptops. I have an HP 9233 laptop. I sat the laptop on the cooling pad and I heard the cooling pad squeaking from the weight. The cooling pad is made from a cheap plastic in my opinion and the fans were noisy. I returned this cooling pad! I later bought an aluminum cooling pad(Notepal by Cooler Master) and am very satisfied with it.

getting noisier by the day... 2008-06-17
The cooling fans were quiet for about a week. The product is getting noisier by the day. It appears the fans are slowly going out of balance. The fans are making a vibrating noise as they spin. The metal around the fan vents can bend very easily. I would NOT recommend this product.
