Now, with my Magellan Maestro 3210, I am able to go anywhere and never feel like I am lost again. This opens many doors for me. I wish I had one many, many years ago.
This Magellan doesn't get lost...

I recently purchased this product for a family vacation to Flagstaff Arizona to see my brother. On the way out we took only Interstate Highways. The unit never missed a beat. We always found the right road and turns. There were plenty of points of interests along the way, too. After all, this unit sports 6 million POI's, that's right 6 MILLION! The unit's screen was plenty big and bright for daytime viewing. The automatic dimming for night driving worked well also. The lag time for finding satelites wasn't overly large and very tolerable.
All that said, when you come off the major roadways the Exit POI's disappear. There was not one to be found. We had to just hope we could find a gas station when traveling from AZ to CO taking smaller highways. The unit is only as good as it's maps though, which are pretty accurate.
The fact that the unit doens't tell you exactly what street name you are turning on was no prblem at all as the name IS displayed for your co-pilot to tell you or you can give it a quick glance. Overall this is a very good unit for the price and I haven't had any trouble with it. This is one Magellan that won't get lost. Magellan Maestro 3210 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Very accurate, gives you plenty of warning about turns, lists street name on bottom of screen. It can list estimated arrival time also.
Now that I don't get lost, maybe people will stop telling me where to go! (lol)
Magellan Maestro 3210 review

I bought this device due to its price and the fact it was loaded with AAA tourbook information. It's nice to have hotel and restaurant listings and those provided in the AAA tourbooks have always been fairly reliable. I've assumed a similar level of reliability with the informaton on the 3210.
What I like about the device:
1) The device has a lot of features for the price. I suspect the price will drop even further as more devices enter the market.
2) AAA information is very handy as both addresses and phone numbers of establishments are included.
3) GPS directions have thus far been very reliable. However, in a couple of instances, I did not sense that the directions generated were the most direct routes possible or the way I would have gone.
How the device could be better:
1) The device can only be charged in your car as only a car adapter cord is provided. I prefer to know that my 3210 is fully charged when I leave home. Without an AC adapter, I feel the need to always carry the car adapter cord for even short trips rather than charging at home and not taking cords with me.
2) A storage case for the 3210 would be a nice inclusion to the package. I tend to toss the device into my backpack when traveling and sense that the display will crack when I next drop the pack or bump into something.
3) The device is slow to update your starting point when it is first turned on. For example, upon arriving into Seattle, I entered in the address of my destination there. However, the starting point for the directions was shown to be my home some 800 miles away. I usually turn off the device and turn it back to remedy the problem. However, I suspect there's something on one of the menu screens to address this problem.
Overall, the device has performed as I expected. There's not much need to read the manual as the on-screen menus are easy to navigate. You could spend more for other devices having similar features on a smaller footprint. However, for me, the ability to read the display is paramount and the display on the 3210 strikes a nice balance between readability and size.
product good; customer service bad

i meant to get "text-to-speach" for the road names to be announced... but that is not the products fault :) ...i decided to keep this anyway as i liked it upon using it... i went to register it and had nothing but trouble and its still not resolved..(my city is not listed and won't show properly in my profile as well as having an issue with my AAA account and the registration - my account with AAA is good and long standing) cs has not been helpful to me but has been more like a nightmare. the same person doesn't work on my case, therefore i get alot of "what is the trouble" (and they aren't titled differently so i do not believe its a supervisor or team lead). since the last email went unanswered; i presume they "quit" my case all together. i won't know if i can update maps now until i actually try ... i don't know whether to give a thumbs up or thumbs down for this product, i just thought you should hear my experience.

I was looking for an inexpensive nav unit and liked this one. Nice features for the price and works well. Would be better if it spoke street names. Sometimes picks goofy route that you know isn't the shortest/fastest way. All in all, I'm happy with the unit.
Awesome product

I bought this for my In-laws and they love it. It is very simple and very easy to use, even for the technology challenged. I love the POI for upcoming exits and the ease of use.
Pretty good for the price

Overall this GPS has been well worth the money. It's interface is very intuitive and it re-routes almost immediately when I miss a turn. Occasionally it suggests a route that is longer than I would expect but it has always lead me to right location. The six million POIs have also come in handy as I always know where the nearest gas station/bank is. Highly recommended!
Basic no frills navigation

This is a basic GPS, has no picture viewer or mp3 player and does not speak the street names ( which I find not to be a problem. It does one thing. Gets you where you want to go. I got this one because its similar to the one used in the Hertz rental cars. Except the Hertz version has like 20 million points of interest. This one has 6 million, which is better than most at his price range. I think the additional POIs in the AAA tourbook make the difference. Speaking of the AAA tourbook, its great. You get info on lots of resturants, hotels/motels, attractions etc. Its not perfect, sometimes sends you in a roundabout way, but I think all GPS systems are like that. Basically for the price its a great little GPS.
