Slows Computer & More
2008-06-20
This product will slow your computer significantly but more than that the Live Update does not work for me at least. I have had AV 2008 for six months it has never worked, and I have vertified the configuration more than once. Tech support has not been helpful. Their solution seems to be "uninstall" and "reinstall."
Enough antivirus program for me

I have used norton for at least 3 years. I like antivirus only and don't like some additional funcations some other software has. This one gave me enough protection through the time. Good one!
Fairly Good

NAV is the best Antivirus program out there. It blocks anything I could think of that needs blocking plus anything I can't think of. Simple to set up and easier to use than older versions. Only problem I have noticed is when the computer goes to sleep it turns off NAV and you have to manually turn it back on when you wake up your computer. I am on cable modem so connection is always on. I think NAV should be also.

Works well, but....

Some websites do not pick up on the new "Identity Safe" feature. Works well with Vista Home Premium. It does not slow down my machine as some have bemoaned. The other problem is with tech support. They are outsourced and are of no help. I am having a problem with the ID Safe. It will not pick up my login info. Norton offered to allow tech support to login into my machine and show them. I am not going to show my personal financial information to a complete stranger in a foreign country!!! The outsourched tech support also responds with unhelpful redundant procedures to the issue I am having.

Norton seams to be doing what I wanted, made the system slower is the only problem
bad option wish I had read the reviews

The product slows down your computer quiet a bit. I talked to norton they told me to make certain changes, but it did not improved performance much. Thinking of uninstallin and using a different softwear. IT'S THAT BAD!!!!
It's Ok

It's basically the same as last years, only a new skin, but it doese seem to go slower than before. Its ok, not amazing, but good enough.

This product was perfect. It was exactly what I was going to by in the mall for much less. I recommend amazon to everyone! It has become one of my favorite places to shop.
NAV 2008 3-user lic. product review
2008-07-02
I bought a 3-user license for three computers running Windows XP (2 Home Edition and 1 Media Center Edition). The MDC PC had problems with installation, so I contacted tech support.
Their Tech Support labor is cheap, but not very effective, we are still trying to resolve the issue. I have purchased Norton Antivirus for my own personal computer since Windows 95 (in 1996). Every version gets worse and conflicts more with Windows and third party applications. It is nice to have brand loyalty, but I can not continue supporting this brand.
Yup, it slows down my system at restart
2008-06-30
I just installed this product because my other antivirus (Computer Associates) had expired. I restarted my computer to activate the Norton software for the first time. The restart was S.....L.....O.....W. It wouldn't even load my startup items like gmail notifier. After a few minutes I gave up. To test if it was Norton, I turned off the virus protection, restarted the computer and bingo, everything loaded up as quickly as normal. So, beware of this software. It may not slow down everyone's system, but it definitely slowed mine to a grinding halt. Lucky me.
