I bought this for my boyfriend, and I must say that watching it with him has made me fall in love with this show that I was too young to watch when it was on television.
Brilliantly written , this show is definitely my new favourite! I can say that Seinfeld has alluded me for all these years however its never too late to fall in love with. Its so fun and easy to watch, free from drama and violence of todays television and great for all ages!
This box set is the perfect gift!

Indispensible for any Seinfeld fan.

This is a first class production all the way. The packaging is most professional. The shows are as funny and as dark as ever, but it's the extra's that really put this into a different level. Most episodes have an 'intro' that adds very pertinent, and sometimes quite startling details (like....why Elaine's father only appeared in one episode! Who knew?)I'm determined to watch each episode, plus the accompanying extra's, in sequence. I'm just now finishing Season 3. And while I'm anxious to see Seasons 4 through 9, I'm trying to savour each one as much as possible. The price might seem a bit steep, but when you think of it....180 episodes, 100+ hours of extra's, the exquisitely designed book....it's actually a steal. And it is totally indispensible for any true Seinfeld fan.
The Cleverest Show Ever Made
2008-08-15
Seriously, only one show can get the superlative rating. I've thought about it, too, and if there's ever been a more clever show, I haven't seen it.
I didn't watch this for years, because I thought Jerry Seinfeld's face was too ugly. Yep, I can be that shallow!
But then, I heard it being discussed around the office water cooler every week for over a year. And you know you did too. So I finally tuned in. Weekly in prime time, perhaps year 7, and five days a week in early evening reruns.
And now, at last, I've seen every episode ever made, in order, and I must say they're all hilarious, except for a few that are merely very funny. To state the obvious, it started with Jerry doing "bits" and George listening/commenting, then grew into an ensemble piece.
Did they know how much talent Michael Richards (Fridays) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (SNL) was bringing to the cast, or were they just very lucky? In my case, I was a Michael Richards fan long before Seinfeld, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus wasn't all that memorable on SNL, so that was a nice surprise.
But you know why this show's getting five stars, right? The writing! Always tight, always clever, with an excellent mix of physical humor, low humor, very intelligent humor, maximum use of the acting talents it had, and those tight endings that neatly tied together threads which really seemed impossibly disparate. And all in only 22 minutes a week. Wow!
As you may have guessed, this isn't something I'm gonna watch from start to finish one time -- I just did that -- and then get rid of. Oh no, it stays on my shelf, to be watched again and again. It doesn't matter if it's an episode I've seen once or 10 times, it's always good for another viewing.
Seller problem:
2008-08-08
The order I placed on July 7th never arrived. Insread, a month later, AFTER an inquiery of mine, I was bomabarded (and still am) with e mails to pay through pay pal. I don't want to pay through pay pal and i don't want to deal with that seller any longer. I told him that by an e mail.
I reorded the series, this time Amazon is the seller and I am waiting for it to come. I expect it to be excellent.
FANTASTIC!

No show captured the eccentricities of New York like the Larry David-created sitcom SEINFELD. Helping to define America's view of New Yorkers the series gained endless fans over its nine season run. Though it wasn't the first show to assert the rudeness of Gotham's citizens its characters are selfish to a fault--not that there's anything wrong with that. Self-obsessed comedian Jerry Seinfeld is joined in the cast by his neurotic ex-girlfriend Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus); his chronically lazy pal George (Jason Alexander); and Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) who takes the sitcom clich of the weird neighbor to impressive new heights. Despite their faults (or perhaps because of them) they're some of the most hilariously watchable characters in television history. The entire series is presented here. The master of all domains!

Although I'm a huge fan of Seinfeld, I didn't start buying dvds right away because I knew they were going to release the box set. I know how they do the business. So I waited for years, watching the episodes I taped off tv. My waiting finally ended.
This box set as I expected got it all!! All episodes, tons of extras, bloopers and even the reunion show! Everything is neatly packed as if Jerry Seinfeld himself did the job. Perfect!!...no, one problem. The whole box stinks for some reason like...BO! Seriously.
Ugh.

Well, I seem to be the only 1 star review on here who actually doesn't like Seinfeld. But I'll go against the crowd and say it- this show is terrible. Boring and unfunny are two words that come to mind. Even Julia Louise-Dreyfuss (who does a very good job in The New Adventures of Old Christine) can't save it. Avoid at all costs.

Every episode is awesome. This a great show. Well worth the money. The extras are really good. The book is really cool. The bonus disc is great. I wish the show was still on the air. I will watch reruns of this show over any of the non sense that is on tv now.

It' s been ten years since the show about a stand-up New-York City comedian , "neat freak" named Jerry Seinfeld and his three colorful friends, a loser, a doofus, and a neurotic ex-girlfriend, aired its final episode on May 14, 1998 but still no sitcom on TV has came close to its incomparable brilliancy which lies in the ability to somehow make a viewer addicted to the narcissist and selfish characters that constantly put themselves into the pointless and absurd situations. I still remember how I became a fan. One evening, my husband and two sons were watching the episode called "The Rye", and I stopped, watched for a few minutes, told them to move over - and the rest is history. I fell in love instantly and forever. Since that night, I watched the new episodes and re-runs whenever it was possible and I've become one of the millions of fans of the greatest show about nothing ever written, directed, and produced. In its best episodes, "Seinfeld" is perfection that no other show would ever achieve, and there are many great episodes. Even now after all these years I keep asking myself why the show about four rather selfish, ego-centric, immature, often back-stabbing and outrageous characters who are afraid of commitments has been so universally loved and admired? Maybe we can see ourselves in them? Or, the secret to Seinfeld's success was the misanthropic Larry David, the failed comedian but talented writer who uses humor derived from awkward social situations, and his collaboration with Jerry Seinfeld? Or maybe as a really great work of art, the show defies any explanation? The sitcom has given us so many unforgettable minutes of joy, that it will never be replaced. Even Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David's baby in all its greatness is not as enjoyable as "Seinfeld." CUE is about George Costanza whose dreams came true - he is rich and has a beautiful loving wife but he does not have Jerry, Cramer, and Elaine in his life, and their absence shows.
Some of my favorite episodes - "The Soup Nazi", "The Chinese Restaurant", "The Pez Dispenser", "The Limo", "The Bubble Boy", "The Contest" -"that's the best, Jerry, that's the best from the masters of their domains", The Puffy Shirt, The Hamptons, oh my God, there are so many! And how many quotes from the show have become the part of every day conversations, "yada yada yada"," they are real and spectacular", "Jerry, just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it." "Hello, Jerry. Hello, Newman".
Thanks for the wonderful memories.
