3 out of 5 dead in 6 months and NO SUPPORT from Philips 2008-06-26
Overall this is a nice frame in terms of brightness and picture quality. Does not deal well with more than 200 or so pictures on the SD card - when you put more than that on the card the frame will freeze after 5 images in slideshow mode. The work around for this was to start the picture frame without the card in then to put the card in after the frame was on...didn't seem to freeze then. We bought 5 for gifts last Christmas for family. 3 of them are now completely dead (2 within 2 weeks, and 1 lasted 6 months), and everyone we gave them to had problems with getting the SD card to work (tried 5 different brands of SD card, it's the frame, not the cards with problems).

Philips customer support is non-existent - they do not respond to emails, and you can't get them by phone. Because of this I WILL NEVER BUY a Philips product again. This one clearly has serious hardware flaws seen in 5/5 of our frames (SD card does not work consistently), with only 2 out of 5 frames actually working after 6 months...Price and packaging are there to lure you in, but this frame is otherwise a huge waste of money unless you want a frame that will only last a couple of weeks (2 dead in 2 weeks, 1 lasted 6 months).

Had to argue with Amazon to accept them back as well...

Love this product! 2008-06-18
Wow, I LOVE this! It's my first photo frame, and I think it's great! The clarity is wonderful, and it's super-convenient and fun to share pics with family and friends -- Because of the internal rechargeable battery, no cord is required, so I can just carry it around with me and show off my pics of family and garden to whoever I want.

My only minor complaints are about the software -- First, it's not self-evident how to copy the pics from PC to frame -- It takes a little figuring out -- Some simple directions (either printed or on the CD-ROM) would really be nice. (Fortunately, Philips has great product support.) Accessing individual photos from the thumbnail menu on the frame is a little slow, and it's tricky at first to manipulate the tiny buttons on the back while looking at the frame from the front to see what you're doing. (However, I know that buttons on the back are much better aesthetically than on the front of the frame.) And it would be nice to have an option to pause the slide-show if you want to look longer at one pic, and then immediately return to the slide show (they way you can in a Windows slide-show). Finally, it would be GREAT to have a removeable battery, so that it could be replaced when it dies.

But those are relatively minor complaints -- I think the frame is really wonderful, and everyone I show it to "oos and aahs" over it -- My hairdresser is ordering one for herself! And this is the only digital frame I've found which has an battery option -- I definitely recommend this!

Amazing Digital Picture Frame 2008-06-14
This is the third Phillips digital picture frame I have ordered. All perform excellently with no issues. The picture quality is perfect. This is a superb product if you are looking for a digital frame. I have used other brands and they always have issues or problems. Also I now always order these from Amazon due to the product, price, and great customer service.

Good digital photo frame 2008-06-12
After comparing similar digital photo frames on Amazon I went with this one. It looks great and I haven't had the same issues as other folks have reported with memory card size. I did encounter an issue with the pic size and how the frame adjusts for it.

If you take your time and work with the photos then the pic display is awesome. Using a 2 GB sd card I have more space then pics so far, but that will change! I've left my on in my bedroom and the light it displays doesn't wake me up, but make sure its not in your line of sight as the lighting of different pics could rouse you.

Good frame without bells and whistles 2008-06-12
I like this frame because it just does what I want a digital photo frame to do, which is to be attractive and show good quality photographs! It doesn't play music or videos, or have a remote, or offer wireless connectivity, all of which I think are unnecessary. A photo frame is not supposed to occupy all of your attention for hours at a time! It's a decoration! That said, I only give it four stars because the manual and the user interface are both fairly poor. I'm a computer guy, but I found the user interface difficult to understand. For example, why should a triangle pointing to the right mean "Enter slideshow" but a curving arrow mean "Toggle between album and settings"? I would be afraid that non-computer people would have real problems changing the slide show speed or transition style.

Easy.. 2008-07-07
to upload your pics from your memory card to the frame. Common sense on how to set up the slideshows as well. Very pleased with device!

Bought 4, 1 failed 4 times before I gave up! 2008-07-05
I bought four of these (one for me and three for gifts). Initially, I like a lot about these. Picture quality was high, the display options very good (I have another HP frame that is handicapped by limited options). The only problem -- 2 of these frames failed. They both just went to black screen. Mine (the one I can speak to) appeared to fail related to greater than a 512 MB chip. Customer service was good -- in that they replaced it twice at no charge including shipping, and twice at no charge with me paying shipping. Customer service ideas -- 1) power surge (I placed the next 3 on a high quality surge protector) 2) I was using a "non-approved" memory chip (I replaced it using the ones recommended on the web site (but not mentioned in the manual) 3) That I had a picture file that was corrupted and it was damaging the picture hardware.

I finally gave up and now have a $150 picture frame sitting in the trash (four replacements is enough). I also find it hard to believe that a corrupted file could damage the frame. Also, I have used many of these same photos in other frames without incident.

When it worked, it was great. But given the failure rate I experienced, I can not recommend it.

looks nice, but poor menu 2008-07-01
I bought this for mother's day. Personally, I've only used a SD memory card for the photos. The interface and menu are not the best, but if you play around with them enough then eventually they become easy to use. The pictures look nice. I don't like how the first picture every time it loads is the same then it shuffles. In addition I don't like how the clock is only in military time. Maybe these can be changed, but I'm not sure; honestly I haven't read the instruction manual so I won't take any credit away from this review based on these 2 minor things. The only missing star derives from the menu, other than that this is a pretty good product.

Good quality images but not user friendly 2008-06-29
This Philips frame definitely shows nice quality images and it looks very atractive. However, I found that this frame is difficult to program. It does not have a remote control and the buttons are quite small (so if you have big hands, this could bother you; in fact my fingers are small and I still got annoyed by this). Also, I could not figure out how to rotate the pictures other than doing it one by one and it took forever (I did try to do it while it was connected to the pc, but it did not work). I simply don't think it is user friendly. I had to return it.

Great for the office 2008-06-27
At this price, this frame is perfect for the office. The picture is crystal clear and it is easy to add photos. I plan on getting another one for the house soon.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."
