Reconditioned OK with me! 2008-08-29
I bought this camera to replace another one and I love. My daughter has the same camera so I know it works well and has many great features. I was a little hesitant because it is refurbished, but once I got it, all my concerns went out the window. It looks and works like brand new. I am very happy and pleasantly surprised with this purchase.

Great little camer - no view finder 2008-08-04
We recently purchased a Casio Exilim, after reading the great reviews on-line.

While it is a nice little camera, with many handy features, includng an exceptionally large display screen, it was missing one rather important feature for me - a view finder! The vast majority of pictures that we take are outdoors, often in bright light. From mountains for distant scenes, to close-ups of flowers, etc. In bright light conditions, it is very difficult to impossible to see what is on the screen, and I need a view finder in which to view what image is being captured. Barring that feature, I found myself guessing and hoping I'd be getting what I wanted in my picture, with varying degress of success. However, when I wanted to get some up-close pictures of rain-drops on flowers, I could not capture it at all, since I couldn't see the image on the screen!

Sadly, this issue has caused me to decide I need to return this little guy, and find one with an old-fashioned view finder to use when I need it.

For those who can function with just the screen, by all means, give it a shot! For the price, it will be hard to beat.

Broke in four months - difficult service 2008-06-26
I bought this camera (EX-Z1080) for both my daughters for Christmas 2007 because they were cute and small. I should have known to stick with the Big Guys. One daughter began having battery difficulties immediately and has to rotate far too often between the main and the spare, keeping one charging. My other daughter's camera simply stopped working completely four months after purchase. Although under the one-year manufacturer's warranty, Casio has questioned her treatment of the camera and warned her of default if they find the camera was abused, which it was not. My daughter is a 40 year old mother of five - she knows how to handle a camera. In addition, they want the camera returned in the original box, which she no longer has, and have told her she can expect a four month wait while they try to figure out the problem. Casio should have mailed her a new camera within five days - no questions asked! Her children are rapidly growing and she should not have to wait for a repaired dime store camera. I sent her a Nikon Coolpix S550 as a replacement. I assume I will soon have to replace my other daughter's camera as well with a real camera. To add insult to injury, these cameras were $100 more than I paid for the Coolpix! My two year old grandson's Fisher-Price camera works better than this. I won't ever make this mistake again. Stick with the Big Boys - they know how to build a camera and they stand behind it.

Great images from a compact 10MP camera.
Easy to use, battery last long time...

Just what you are looking for! 2008-05-27
Exilim z1080! great digital camera!!! pretty pocket camera! Loved the material! is a little heavier than other digital cameras, but that's because of the material! metal! and I like that! gives the camera an stylish look! and of course it's way resistant! It has a lot of modes that are very handy!

PROS:
- Beautiful camera
- Pretty slim and small
- Big LCD
- Resolution! 10.1 effective pixels
- Mic and speaker
- Battery life! AMAZING! and it's better if you buy an extra battery! although the charging is pretty quick!
- 1 gb memory is enough! you can take lots of pictures!
- Audio in videos

CONS:
- Videos taken at night are not high quality ... but c'mon! this is a pocket camera! if you take videos during day light the results are going to be great!
- Optical zoom ... but again: pocket camera! we are not talking about some SLR camera!
- I have to agree with other customers, the manual is useless! pretty manual but that's it!

Maybe you'll read something about the white balance or color balance ... I haven't notice the problem with my pictures, but maybe the videos are a little dark sometimes (fixable)! and apparently theres a firmware update at casio web page! I highly recommend this camera!!!!

Best buy, period. 2008-04-23
This is probably the best compact digital camera that you can buy at any price. Why? Because the vast majority of non-DSLR digital cameras use 1/2.3" ~ 1/2.5" CCD image sensor, but this Casio EX-Z1080 has a 1/1.75" one! It really does make a difference (less image noise) particularly when you shoot in low light condition.

In addition to taking great photos, this camera starts up really fast, has super long battery life, and is easy to operate while packing lots of functions.

Note: There's no carrying case included with this camera, so if you're taking it on a trip right away, you should order a case/pouch too.

Excellent camera 2008-04-12
What I like the most of this great camera:
1) great pictures
2) automatic settings to take pictures
3) battery, it lasts forever

Best camera I've owned 2008-04-09
Let me start off by saying that this is absolutely the best camera I've owned. I love the 10.1MP.

All the "Best Shot Selections" are great presets and work fantastic. I was so shocked that when I purchased this camera you could zoom in like crazy! See things that you would think you were looking under a microscope at!!

The sound works great with the video and the video mode is easy to use.

Overall, this camera is great and I just love it, I've read so many reviews on Amazon about this camera and haven't found many that have had anything negative to say about it. I recommend it! Now, take some awesome pictures! = )

Casio Exilim EX-Z1080 Camera 2008-04-08
I am very happy with my purchase of my Casio Z-1080 camera. My previous camera was an Olympus Stylus 300. I was very satisified with the Olympus until it broke. The Casio pictures are clearer and I like the wider screen to view the pictures. The sleek design is a plus. I originally purchased the same camera thru Ebay. The camera was suppose to be a new one, but it turned out to be a refurbished camera. I sent it back and got my money back. This was the first time I have shopped using Amazon.com and I am impressed with their service. The Casio exilim EX-Z1080 is by far the best camera I have owned so far. I would recommend this camera to anyone and I already have. My niece bought a Sony and my Casio takes much better pictures.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."
