Also, because oil contains no oxygen, it provides an exceptional storage environment for vitamins. Bio-Oil includes many beneficial skin ingredients such as Vitamin A, Vitamin E, calendula oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil, and chamomile oil. This mix of plant oils and vitamins has been clinically shown to be beneficial to the skin.
Bio-Oil also does a wonderful job at moisturizing and has sufficient moisturizing properties so as to render an additional moisturizer unnecessary.

LUV THIS STUFF
2008-05-22
THIS SCAR OIL WORKS GREAT. IT HAS LESSENED THE APPEARANCE OF MY SCARS. MY SISTER AND NEICE ALSO USE THIS PRODUCT AND LUV, LUV, LUV IT.
Great for the colder months, but it remains oily under the sun

I used Bio Oil as a moisturizer after washing my face and applying toner. I have some uneveness in skin tone and I wanted to see if it would really help. I've been using the product for about two weeks and I have to say that I like it, but I don't love it. When you first apply Bio Oil, be prepared for the oily sheen it'll leave on your skin. It sinks in after awhile, but I had to remind myself to give ample time before applying clothes because I didn't want them oil stained. It left my skin feeling smooth and supple once it sunk in, and it did help to even out my tone. I like Bio Oil enough to buy it again, but probably only in the winter months. The oil doesn't really sink in if you're sweating and it's getting to be too warm to leave the house with a layer of oil on my face. Give Bio Oil a chance if you have stubborn skin pigmentation issues, but be forewarned that the "oil" in its name doesn't overpromise.
The 30-word review.

The 30-word review:
Bottle says apply twice daily for 30 days.
Initial application made dehydrated skin even MORE dry, so I don't want to keep this up that long. But it smells good.
This is a Mircle oil

Ok, so I bought this oil first from a drug store after hearing so much hype about it on TV and in magazine ads. I was skepticle because I don't always believe what I read or see until I've tried it or it's been proven by someone I know. So listen, I use it on my face at night because it says it will help uneven skin tones and scars (acne) which I have. Well... It works! I also have oily skin which I thought this product would make oiler. But, it doesn't; as a matter of fact, this makes me break out less. Go figure!Bio-Oil, 2-Ounce Bottle
Bio-Oil worth a try

I tried this product on one very old scar. It goes on smooth and has a decent aroma to it. I've seen minimal change in the scar since using it. Hopefully there may be some more effect after longer use. I can't offer too much insight about how this product may work for you - there have been no negative effects and seemingly slight improvement for me. So I will say it's worth trying if you have areas of your skin you'd like to smooth out.
Maybe it just didn't work for me

I've been using this oil according to the directions--twice a day for 3 months, although I did miss a day here or there.
Pros:
It's a nice, very light scent. The smell is temporary and then wafts away, so it's not perfumy.
It's a very nice oil that absorbs quickly. It leaves only a very slight oily film on the skin that goes away within an hour.
I did not have any kind of skin rash or reaction to it, although I did not try this on my face.
A little goes a long way, so even though the bottle is small, it lasts well beyond three months, although it also depends on how large an area you are treating.
Cons:
I used this on my stretch marks and really saw very little difference. We even took a picture before I started using it just to make sure.
This was more of an experiment since I'm not really that self conscious about my stretch marks (they're mostly covered up) so I'm not upset, but I was hoping for some more dramatic difference.
My husband used it on his surgery scars, and he also saw very little change. But he has a tendency to keloid, which might be why the Bio-Oil didn't work for him. He has had minimal improvement no matter what oil or lotion he uses, even pure vitamin E.
However, it's apparent that this oil does work for some people, even if it didn't work very much for us. I think it's worth a shot if you're desperate to get rid of scars or uneven skin tone.
Easy On The Skin

Obviously, it's hard to review a product on promises of a product for future benefits. However, I've used Bio-Oil for two months now and have found it to be easy-on-the-skin. For me, that's a HUGE plus as I have very sensitive skin. So, for that alone - Bio-Oil gets five-stars from me!
Fine, but nothing special

This is a fairly light, not-too-greasy oil that's mildly moisturizing, but not that much more. It has a fairly pleasant, herbal scent, to my nose. And that's about all I can say. I don't believe for a minute that it can prevent or fade stretch marks (which are genetic, and which mostly fade on their own, anyway). I don't really have any scars, so I was unable to test that theory.
I've also read on some sites that some people use this to treat acne. That seems extremely counterintuitive to me -- if you have oily, acne-prone skin, the LAST thing it seems you should do is put more oil on your face. This may help with very dry skin or with wrinkles, to an extent.
This is repackaged Baby Oil=MINERAL OIL
2008-06-17
I do not see how this could work when the first and main ingredient is Mineral Oil which has been banned for skincare use in Europe and is proven to be a skin occlusive,IT also may breakdown the fatty layer in skin over time and dry skin out more over time.
It also clogs pores and prevents absorption !
Recommend for all pregnant women

I was given this product first by a friend from England as she had had lots of success with her stretch marks. At the time I didn't use it but then I got pregnant and of course those stretch marks started to arrive. I loved the feel of the oil on my skin and found that it really helped in reducing the itching while my body was stretch into forms I knew not. I do have stretch marks but I feel the oil kept them down and also helped my skin deal with the pregnancy. I have also found that when I have a cold it was a great product to dab on my nose and stopped it from drying out. I love this product and now always have a bottle near by.
