Wait until after July08 but a great program

At the time of writing Jun22-08, Endnote doesn't work with Office 2008 for Mac. A fix is supposed to come out at any day now and based on the recent release of Windows X2, there may be a Mac Endnote X2 following soon.
Everyone has a different requirement for citation software but this is probably the most refined solution available. They tend to be a couple months behind in Microsoft updates in the past but Endnote works seamlessly with Word for adding references to whatever research paper you are writing. The one downside is that it is expensive- the same price as the academic version of Office. The Cite While You Write feature works great. You can get by with other programs and you can also get by with manual citation management but it's much harder. Zotero mentioned in another review is not even a full-fledged application, but a Firefox extension.
Don't waste your money!

Don't waste 100 dollars on this software when you can get all the same features and more for free with Zotero. I almost bought EndNote convinced I needed it to write my dissertation. Luckily, I found out about Zotero just before purchasing EndNote. I won't go into the details of Zotero but it is better than EndNote and free.
