Top of the line ceiling mount for medium to large flat screens.

I searched for what seemed forever to find a ceiling mount that would future proof me, while assuring safe and secure mounting of not just my 37" LCD, but any future upgrades to larger, heavier flat screens. I'm remodeling my basement, and wanted to mount a flat screen in the corner facing my pool table. I've got my ceiling torn out, and knew this was the perfect time to mount a solid mount. This Olevia mount is by far heavier construction, weighs way more than any other you'll find, and therefore supports much bigger and heavier flat screens. It also provides for cable management down through the pipe from the top, and swivels left to right along with tilt. My only complaint is that it does not include a ceiling canopy cover where the pipe goes up through my drywall ceiling. This is the same complaint I had about every other mount I found, so this one is no different in that aspect. This is easy enough to resolve after your ceiling gets put back in if you're any good with wood working. I just cut out a piece of a board and custom made a cover plate that I cut a hole in to match the diameter of the pipe. Then I slid the new cover over the pipe up towards the ceiling and used some drywall anchors to screw it into the ceiling. It really wasn't a big deal, and has nothing to do with the quality of this mount. Another point to make here is that because it supports so much weight, you will need to mount a board between two joists because the flat mounting bracket at the top of the pipe needs a solid area to mount to. A verticle joist is not wide enough to mount to. This mount is pricey, but you won't find another one that even comes close to the quality and how much weight it can support. You get exactly what you pay for here, while all the others that are much cheaper, are also built very cheap. Protect your flat screen investment. Don't be cheap!
