Very Good Laptop
2007-12-30
Hello,
This laptop has great small 13.3" which is easy to carry everywhere, also not bad for work with nice 1280x800 resulotioun.
Performances are great. I just didn't noticed that I bought Dual Core (first model, older than Dual 2 Core), but its fine anyway.
Price is also very good for the product.
Only thing is the problems with finding Windows XP drivers ...
I would give like 92% rating to this laptop :D
(But I never had any other laptop)
Happy New Year .... :)
It was satisfactory!!!

Me and my other family members use Toshiba laptops. We enjoy the all products.I bought this one for my brother and he said that this product is more satisfactory than the one he used before.Toshiba Satellite U305-S7467 13.3" Notebook PC (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5450, 2 GB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium)

Microsoft 2007 90 day free trial and McAfee free trial were EXPIRED in JUNE and I just bought it in December, real nice. Too much other bloatware. Nice laptop for the $
Excellent Laptop

I had the top of the line of Lenovo Laptops, the The T60. I ended replacing it with this Toshiba Laptop U305. the screen size 13.3 is perfect, the laptop is easy to carry and light with a great bright screen and most importantly a battery that lasts for up to 5 hours. My Lenovo's battery lasted 90 minutes. the camera and the biometric scanner are excellent features as well as the 200 GB hard disc. the only cosmetic feature I don't like is that the battery sticks out of the back beyond the edge of the laptop. The dynadock works very well with the U305 and therefore at office or home I am using 24 inch Monitor and full keyboard and wirelss mouse.
Very nice system with one glitch

I ordered this system from Amazon last month - and I am very happy with it except for one thing - it has one stick pixel. The build quality is very good except for the keyboard - which has a "ripple" in it. The LCD is great otherwise - bright and evenly lit. Its a good deal at the price considering it has 2-Gb of RAM and a 160-Gb HDD. I immediately formatted the HDD though - since Toshiba puts a lot of un-needed apps on it's Vista build. I loaded a spare copy of XP PRO, and it works very well but the XP drivers were pretty hard to find. Next I re-installed Vista HP using my Vista Anytime Upgrade DVD - Vista drivers were easy to install (but they must be downloaded - irritatingly - Toshiba continues to send only restore disks with their laptops versus separate OS and driver CD's like Dell provides). It boots much faster into Vista now and runs very well. Honestly, this is a 4 and 1/2 star system - the stuck pixel isn't a glaring problem given the fine pixel pitch of the LCD.
Overall, a very good laptop

This is my first, and only laptop I've had so far it's worked well for me. It's pretty much given me freedom and has kept me up to date with today's stuff. Now I'm not gonna write a novel about it, but let me tell you my pros and cons of it:
PROS:
-Windows Vista, very up-to-date and very well put together
-Amazing and beautiful graphics, movies look amazing when played
-Verry nice looking and glossy screen, and not glossy to the point where you can see the person behind you being reflected in the screen
-Has a webcam and microphone
-Has a DVD burner
-Ripping DVDs and CDs are very quick
CONS:
-VERY LOUD FAN at the side. Like one person said, at times it sounds like an airplane taking off. Very distracting in the classroom or at the library.
-Windows Media Player doesn't work sometimes (at least not when playing videos)
-The Webcam. "But you just praised the webcam!" I know, don't get me wrong, I think it's good that there is one, however, it's very low quality video, and constantly lags. I've used it on MSN and people have told me it's very low quality, which I agree. It blacks out in dark areas, which is really annoying. The microphone works like a charm though.
So overall, if this is your first laptop, then it's really worth it. Just be aware of the flaws, though.
Ok but not great

I bought this to replace my Thinkpad that died. I use it for school & it does work well but overall I only give it an ok.
Pros: nice size; can't beat the battery life; screen is great quality - pictures are beautiful; great speed & performs well even with multiple applications running
Cons: cheap keyboard - feels flimsy & it is almost impossible to type quietly; very loud fan in the side heat vent - it often sounds like a plane is taking off! very annoying in the library or during lecture; difficult to get the bluetooth to work - it actually came with instructions on how to reload the software to get it to supposedly work (I've had it 6 months & I still can't sync to my blackberry); randomly starts beeping
Like I said, it does what I need it to but I wouldn't purchase again. I chose this one over the HP because of the battery life but in the long run I'm not sure an extra hour was worth it. Overall it just seems to be a "cheap" computer. My good friend purchased an comparable HP at the same time & has absolutely no complaints.
good laptop

i got this laptop as a suplament to my desktop, and now almost never use my desktop. great battie life with the extended pack. the screen looks great and its HD native resolution is nice.
Great for what I use it for

Bought it for the family so we can watch movies on the plane, access internet anywhere in the house, access internet on vacation, take it to friends houses for World of Warcraft get togethers. It is light, has a good picture, and has good battery life (orig 5200 mAh). Bought the PA3595U battery pack (7800 mAh) from Toshiba as an additional battery, so between the two I have 13,000 mAh power... enough for even a long flight.
Quality dissapointing

I was frankly very disappointed by this computer. The speed and battery time is ok. But the keyboard has a very low quality feel to it - it is very "loose" - feels very cheap. Also the web camera is terrible. I use Skype a bit and everyone tells me I have an awful camera. Finally the microphone is also low quality - I have had to buy an extra headset otherwise people can't hear me.
I would pay a couple of hundred extra for a Dell
