Rusted and Missing Nut - No Help From Bosch 2008-10-02
I bought mine from Tool Authority which had it to me within 24 hours (Michigan to Ohio). When I opened up the box I thought great. The styrofoam packing was thick and seemed like it would withstand hard shipping treatment. The first problem I noticed was rust and scratches all over the legs on the main frame underneath the plastic wrapper. I also could not find a serial number for registration, needed mostly in case of a recall. I called Bosch tech dept and asked where to find the serial number and they said there wasn't any for this stand. I then asked if they would send some matching touch up paint and they said "NO". He went on to explain that Bosch doesn't make this stand and he did not know who did. He said he is unable to provide any assistance when it comes to this stand. He transfered me to parts to order paint for touch up and a woman told me they don't have Bosch blue touch up paint. When I told her the stand was silver in color she said I should be able to find a close color at a hardware store.
After hanging up I went and got a bottle of Turtle Wax car polish and started polishing to try and remove the rust and scratches. I ended up using a green Scotchbrite scratch pad with the polish to remove all of the rust and scratches. This took me about an hour but I was thankful that the thing cleaned up so it would look new. My guess is that it had gotten wet somewhere along the line and stayed damp for a while.
The next thing was to assemble it. I laid out all of the parts and found it was missing a nyloc nut. I had a nyloc nut that worked fine. Assembly was fairly easy. It took me about an hour or so after the waxing to get it assembled. While mounting my new Milwaukee 6950-20 I had trouble with one of the bolts going into the back built in sliding nut on one of the tool mount assemblies. The bolt went in but I think it is cross threaded. I probably should not have forced it and went and bought a good bolt and cleaned the threads in the built in nut. Overall, I think this is as good as a stand as a person could find, especially if you want a small storage footprint and a stand that will keep your saw upright instead of falling onto the ground. This stand is steady!
I have a lot of Bosch power tools and have never had a problem. I can only hope I never need to call Bosch again. I think their tech and parts departments need to be more helpful. They speak to you real nice and friendly until you need their help.
As someone else mentioned, a big improvement for this stand would be to put a padding of some kind underneath the base tube where it meets the ground when in storage position. I plan to glue a rubber pad to the tube to prevent it from scraping on my concrete floor.
I plan on asking Santa for the Bosch 4100-09 table saw. If I am lucky enough to get it, I'll be prepared for the stand assembly.

Disappointed 2008-08-24
Sorry to disagree with all the glowing reviews.
I wanted to love this as much as everyone else, but was greatly disappointed.

For starters, my Hitachi C10FSH is not compatible with the mounts, unless I mount it on plywood.

The front two holes bolt down, but the saw is skewed on the rails a bit. Even if it were square to the rails, the support arms are in different positions front to back such that when cutting a long board supported on the left, it barely catches the support arm when square to the saw's fence. This is unacceptable for a $300 stand.

Even without the saw mounted, it seems hard to get the mounts to lock in squarely to the rails.

I felt the mechanism (a simple knob)and adjusting for the stops was cheesy.

The rubber telescoping feet fell off the very first time I moved the saw. Putting them back on is pointless as they just come back off immediately.

In short, I feel this stand is grossly overpriced for the job it does. Furthermore, this thing is extremely bulky and cumbersome, and barely fits through a door, a fence gate, etc... without banging up either the stand or the slider rails on my saw. Are we really so lazy that we can't be bothered to move our saws and stands separately?

If I had it to do over again I would not have bought this. My next will be a basic pop-out leg style that's LIGHT and maneuverable.

Thanks.

Love the stand 2008-08-04
This is a great stand easy to use and very stable, a little bit of weight but it keeps it sturdy. Love this stand.

Bosch Miter Saw Stand 2008-05-18
I was looking for something I could navigate stairs and load in the truck by myself, without disassembly. This unit has met and exceeded my expectations. I was amazed at how well balanced it is. The saw separates from the base easily and quickly. The table extensions are adequate for supporting work. I do have a recommendation for improvement. Place some type of protective cover over areas of the stand that contact the floor when raising or lowering.

Bosch T4B Gravity-Rise Miter Saw Stand 2008-05-08
Excellent product. One of the best built pieces of hardware I have purchased. Works flawlessly, easy to assemble, top quality construction with heavy duty parts.

Excellent Miter Saw Stand 2008-03-26
This is quite simply the best miter saw stand available today. The only other contenders for this title are possibly the Delta 36-136, the Trojan MS-2000, the Trojan TWC-35, and the Ridgid MS-UV. So what makes the Bosch better than the also-rans? Let me tell you:

Delta 36-136 - This is a nice stand, but it was not sufficiently stable for my saw. In addition, the wheels were flimsy and prone to getting stuck in mud.

Ridgid MS-UV - This stand is good, however it does not setup as quickly as the Bosch, and storing a heavy saw on this stand when it is folded up takes up a lot of space.

Trojan MS2000 - This stand is basically the Ridgid MS-UV on steroids, and is the closest contender to the Bosch. It is heavy duty, but it does not set up as quickly as the Bosch, and it has the same storage issues as the Ridgid.

Trojan TWC35 - This stand isn't a cart stand, so it isn't as portable, however, it is the sturdiest and most heavy duty of the stands. If speed, elbow grease and storage space aren't issues, then it beats everything else.

Bosch T4B - It's tougher than everything but the Trojan TWC35. It sets up and breaks down faster than anything else out there. You can store the whole system in the upright folded position, so it saves space. It has great wheels, and a quick disconnect feature to remove the saw from the stand. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it's made in China.

BEWARE!!! 2008-03-19
The stand itself is an excellent design. Be VERY careful assembling the unit, on one of the threaded tubes which receives a bolt on my stand has a stripped thread situation. Bosch support was very open that they do not manufacture the stand. Furthermore, the manufacturer does not provide replacement parts. Bosch has a very limited parts list that they can replace which did not help me. I was told my only recourse is to take the whole stand back where I bought it for a replacement. This is the source of the lower rating from me. Good luck with yours.

The best Miter Saw Stand 2008-03-02
I have made and purchased many miter saw stands over the years, but this one trumps them all. I have a crew and need multiples of most tools so I purchase two of the Bosch T4B Gravity-Rise miter stands as soon as they became available. We have put one into service with our framing crew and the crew gives it a thumbs up. First, the fact that the saw can remain on the stand for transport makes it safer and easier for the crew to move around. The large tires allow it to be rolled even on uneven sites without trouble. It is strong and stable also. Though it is new, we believe it will stand the test of time just as the gravity rise table saw stand has. Our crew has been using the Saw Helper stand for years and did not want to give up the continuous extension wings so they combined the Bosch stand and the Saw Helper wings to create and easy to move, strong, and accurate stand. It is a work horse. I will be buying two more in the near future so the framing trailer will have two and the trim trailer will also have two.

Could be a work of art. 2008-02-22
I have worked with Miter Saw Stands in the past. Until now the set up and ease of operation has been the part of my day that I dreaded. I received my Bosch T4B on 2/12/08. The box was in good shape after shipment. As I started to lay the pieces out for assembly, I found the Support Arm Assembly was missing from the box. In my excitement I assembled the stand and found that it still functioned pretty good in the upright and storage position. I called and sent emails to CPO Bosch fearing that I would have to jump through hoops to have the part sent to me in time for the deadline I had set for myself to start trimming the house I have been been building. Within 24 hours I had been sent two emails in regards to my request for the missing part. The first was the shipping information for the return of the T4B that I had received, because the replacement part could not be sent to me . The second was the tracking information for my new T4B. When the second box arrived it was in terrible shape. I knew from my first experience that the packing was very well thought out and quickly opened what was left of the outer box to inspect the stand. I found everything in great shape and all the parts and pieces in order. The assembly the second time around took no more then 15 min. and the operation with all the parts assembled was amazing. I am very pleased with the service and stand. The weight of the unit is a concern but the benefits of setup and stability out weigh the weight. I have been using the T4B for a few days now and have no complaints. If you are looking for a saw stand that is well built and can handle just about any kind of abuse you can find for it, then the T4B is and should be the last one you will ever need. GDE
