Works great as advertised

Perfect, easy installation for a printer to be on the other side of the office but still hardwired with the wires hidden behind desks in a small business that has no wireless networking (at this point). Works perfectly and is very long-actually longer than we needed.

Excellent long cable

Our older HP G55 printer/scanner had always connected well via parallel cable to our old Dell computer, but when we got a new Dell desktop we had to start using USB, which turned out to be a more complicated undertaking than we could have guessed. Since at least some (maybe all?) HP printers require full two-way communication with the computer, we found out that not just any old USB cable would do. We have the added complication of needing a very long cable, since our printer is halfway across the room from the computer.

After trying several generic USB cables, a powered hub, and combinations thereof with very inconsistent and disappointing results, I noticed the good reviews for this product and decided to give it a try. Well, this cable works perfectly all the time, even for scanning, and is fast despite its length. There is only a tiny amount of lingering USB squirreliness (for instance, sometimes when the printer is turned off the icon on the computer stays on), but nothing affecting performance. I like this cable so much I got another one to connect occasionally to a laptop in the next room--works flawlessly also. I am now a dedicated Tripp Lite customer, and will consider their products first in future.

I needed to link my computer in one room to a Canon Pro9000 printer in the next room for occasional use; USB-RJ45 or wireless extenders had limited data rate, but when I need it, I run the cable into the next room and full USB 2.0 speed with no problems. Beats drilling (more) holes in the wall.

Excellent cable for extending the distance from a PC that a printer or other device can be located. This device eliminates the need to daisy chain shorter cables together. It has an active repeater installed in the middle (which is about 1"x 1"x 1/2" thick) and is bus powered so no other power supply is needed. Response time for my printer has not changed in comparison to the original 6-foot cable I had been using. Now my printer is in a new location off my desktop freeing up valuable desktop working area. I've just ordered a second cable to allow me to relocate my scanner as well.
