I would not purchase

The armband is completely made of a black cloth, and therefore you do not see the screen at all, making the best feature of the zen useless. In addition, when running the armband slides down your arm as it is not very elastic, and collects sweat more than any armband I've tried before. I would suggest buying a different armband.

it does it's job. when i'm at the gym, it's jus me, the zen, in the armband, goin to work. yea i know, u can't see the screen, but really, who cares, buy a belt clip if you're that concerned. i like the majority of my songs, if i didn't, they shouldn't/wouldn't be on there in the first place.

With no elastic how is it supposed to stay on my arm without me cutting off my circulation....? I have tried to use this armband a few times...it will stay on for a while, then starts sliding down my arm. It already has a few places where the edging thread is coming undone. IT NEEDS ELASTIC IN THE BAND!

I got this, in spite of some of the negative comments a) because it fits my player and b) because it fits my arm. I was hesitant, but decided to go for it since all I really wanted to do was have it playing while I'm working out.
I was pleasantly surprised that it actually has indents set up to use the buttons so that volume, FF, etc. can be utilized during the workout. Yes, I can't navigate a screen to look for a particular song while I'm working out, but I don't do that - I just want music playing and if I don't like the song that comes on I FF it. I can adjust the volume and all that good stuff while running, so this is ideal for my workouts.
So, if you want to watch a movie or spend time looking at a screen while supposedly working out, this is not the product for you. If you want a great arm band that'll hold your player firmly and allow you to work out and use basic functions, you won't find a product that'll make you happier.

I read all the reviews and almost decided against buying this, but I'm glad I changed my mind! I love my Zen, and I run with it 5 or 6 days a week. For me, the armband is comfortable and easy to use. It did take me a couple minutes to get it on perfectly the very first day I used it, but now that I'm used to it, it's easy! The screen is covered, but that's not a problem for me since I only use it to work out. I just put my running playlist on shuffle, and hit next when I want a different song (although the screen and buttons are covered, the armband outlines all the buttons. So, as long as you're not searching between different artists or playlists (and who does that in the middle of a workout, anyway?), it's no big deal).
If you're looking for a way to use your Zen during workouts, this armband is perfect. It's comfortable, it looks good, and it's easy to use!
Zen Armband 2008-07-21
I recently purchased the armband for my new Zen, and am pleased with the design and ease of use. An avid walker, I hated having to constantly carry my music, and the armband completely takes that hassle out of the equation. The only flaw is that there is no "window" to see the Zen screen when changing the music or options. Overall, a useful and reasonably priced product.

I have read all the negative reviews but really you can see what you are getting. Yes you can't see the screen but just set the player and listen. You shouldn't have to worry about fixing your player when you workout anyway...just listen. You can change the track and turn up the volume...should be good enough!!!

Well, I guess you really can't expect much from an MP3 player armbad except hold the MP3 player on your arm. Which, this does very well, but the biggest gripe was that you can't see the screen or access the MP3 player itself unless you take it off your arm. This could be VERY inconvenient when participating in activities that would require an armband. Don't waste your money.

I know you're thinking it can't be that bad but it is. You've been warned. Besides just being an awful design, the neoprene material eventually stretches out and the buttons don't line up exactly anymore and nothing is more frustrating than trying to pause a track and then being sent to the album of the day. Read the other reviews and look for something else.

The reviews for this product were definitely steering me towards finding another product to use, but I bought this one anyway. I am so glad that I did. This armband has been perfect for my early morning runs!
