BUYER BEWARE!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have a similar Toshiba 47LZ196 that I paid $3499.99 for in Dec. 2006 that is just under 1 year and 2.5 months old and the panel ($3400.00) crapped out on me. After being informed by multiple Toshiba reps that I was in the window to receive assistance I was informed NOTHING would be covered and I was responsible for the cost of the part and repairs. What a joke for a higher end flat panel. One year and almost $4000.00 down the old crapper. Such a shame since I really liked that tv.
40 " tv fits in 37 " cabinet great TV and great service

My cabinet space was limited for a 40 inch TV but toshiba makes a model where the speakers are on the front bottem and it fit perfectly.
I/ve alwasy bought Toshiba brand tvs and was very lucky this model
was also for limited space.
Also amazon was out of stock and they went to extra effort working
with a supplier and delivery firm to get it to me in about 8 days.
The driver even had white gloves, opened the box and tested it
before leaving. I believe it was Eagle trucking.
Amazon did a great job.

It took two sets to get it right but it's a very good product.
I work in the TV industry and when this set is setup right it's a beautiful thing to see.
The first one I got was not right, the picture was off and the screen was off center, you could not watch the set and even when Toshiba come in they said to return it as the whole main board would have to be replaced. It really was DOA. I called Amazon and they took the took the old one and the new one is just wonderful.
You'll like the fact that you get so much more screen space with the thin edge.
At the price point it's a real buy. I guess you could spend double the money and a little bit better blacks but for me this is just a wonderful set.
Once it's setup right the picture is wonderful. Alot of HDMI jacks and other connnections that are future proof.
Buy it. You'll like it!!!!!
Looks great, fits into a tight space 2008-03-26
Ordered this TV about a month ago. I have a cabinet that is only 38.5" wide, and I was looking for the biggest flatscreen that would fit into the space. After considering this and a Samsung 4061F, I talked to someone in a local store who said that Samsung has quality problems. Not sure if that's true or not, but I went ahead and ordered this TV instead after doing quite a bit more looking and research.
This TV looks great. The white glove delivery was good and professional. They unboxed everything. The only thing they didn't do was put the stand onto the TV. They said that if they assembled the stand and then it failed, then they would be liable. The net effect of this was that we could power the TV but couldn't get it into position to see if it actually received a signal. However, once they were gone and I got the stand attached and my DVD hooked up, things looked excellent.
My wife was skeptical as I was ordering this, but she is now quite happy with the picture.
I have to admit that I was initially a little worried about buying something like a TV on line, but Amazon and the delivery was very professional and I saved about 15% off the purchase price over a local store. I would definitely do it this way again and advise others to.
A Great Solution for an Entertainment Center with Limited Space

I purchased the Toshiba REGZA 40RF350U Super Narrow 40" LCD HDTV because it was the largest 1080p flat panel that would fit in our entertainment center. I have purchased several Toshiba black stripe sets in the past and have always been happy with Toshiba so I had no fear that this purchase would also meet my expectations. The REGZA was very easy to set-up and the remote control is simple and works with all of my components. The picture quality is fantastic - likely as good as all the major competitors. For me, with limited space, this was the perfect choice. And the panel looks great! My only problem, the buttons on the TV are situated on the right side of the panel. Since it just fits I can't get to them. However with the remote I doubt this will cause much of a inconvenience. Perhaps if the buttons were on the bottom .....
A great choice for overall looks, quality of picture, ease of operation, simple remote control and price.
Terrible Quaility - Terrible Service 2008-07-02
I owned this television for 60 days at which point thin lines began to appear. Apprently, the LCD Panel needs to be replaced. Now toshiba says that it is going to be until November that the part is available. They have been unwilling to replace and VERY unhelpful. I will never buy another piece of Toshiba electronics as long as I live.

Toshiba REGZA 40RF350U Super Narrow 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
The TV is excellent state of the art LCD TV!! The picture clarity, ease of operation, output/input capabilities allow the utmost viewing enjoyment whether off the air, DVD, or cable. I would reccommend it to anyone...It is what I have come to expect from Toshiba.
A word about the Amazon.com provider from Nashville TN. Their customer service rep was excllent in manner and knowledgeble. The TV arrived factory fresh (as advertised) and in great working condition straight out of the box.
As you can ascertain I am a very satisfied HDTV owner.
Great TV and Awsome Computer Monitor 2008-06-09
The Toshiba 40RF350U, is a terrific TV. No green shift is evident in mine as has been reported elsewhere. One tip for PC users, if you use HDMI to get 1920x1080, use the "document" picture mode. It looks fantastic! This TV. is awesome for gaming. I play FPSs mainly and there is no blur to be found.
The tuner in the unit is great. It is able to pull in stations I couldn't get on my Dell 32". The signal strength indicator and tools in the advanced menus were very helpful. Over all layout of the settings menus is very good. Nice an intuitive.
I am very happy with this set.
Excellent picture; minimal physical dimensions 2008-05-11
I wanted to fit the maximum size TV image in a small space. The Toshiba REGZA super-narrow bezel does that with the tiny frame surrounding the screen. In effect, I was able to fit a 40 inch TV in a space that would typically fit only a 37 inch TV. I read several indepedent reviews of the Toshiba and learned that the image quality and features matched the top-reviewed LCD HDTVs. I am very pleased with the image quality and performance of the TV. I have a 42 inch Samsung plasma, and the image quality of the Toshiba is superior.
The only real complaint I have is a slight delay in moving channels up and down (rather than instantly changing the channel).
Toshiba Super Narrow 40-inch 1080p LCD HDTV 2008-05-06
This TV is awesome. First of all it was shipped quickly and arrived intact. There wasn't anything wrong when we unpacked it. The TV is as they describe it - NARROW! It's a space saver and fit perfectly in our living room since we have very little living space to work with. It was very easy to set up and has excellent picture quality. The sound isn't bad either. We of course set it up with our surround sound system and well, all I can say is that we enjoy watching TV and movies a whole lot more now.
