Very Satisfied With Motorola T505

The product was promptly received and we immediately used it during a two week trip soon after receipt. People told us that the cell phone was very clear and understandable. We used the streaming audio to listen to downloaded audio books. The link to our vehicle FM radio was easy to establish and to change when a local station interfered. As warned in an addendum to the instructions, my Windows Mobile 5 device did not pause when a cell phone call was received, so we had to pause the device before answering the call. Other than pausing the program, the switch between cell and and audio performed as promised. We expect to use the T505 away from our vehicle for cell calls when speakerphone operation is needed. I would like to have an AC power adaptor in addition to the supplied vehicle charging cord. I could not find any specs to indicate whether other AC adaptors that I have for Motorola devices would work with the T505. Overall I am pleased with the device and recommend it to others.

poorly designed- but it does work

I bought this because I read all the great reviews here.
I am very disapointed with it's design.
once you pair the unit it connects to your phone, no problem there.
my problem is if you park your car in you garage and forget to turn the unit off . when you go in your house the unit stays paired with your phone, That means if you get a call you can't hear to person calling you until you go out to the car and shut it off.
Also the way turn it on and off is pretty annoying, you have to press a spot in the back of the unit and hold it pressed for 3 seconds. really stupid. this thing has a battery in it so even if you plug it into your cigarette lighter that has no power when you turn your car off, the unit still stays on and connected to your phone.
If you are looking for a device that will pair to your phone when you start your car and dissconect to your phone when you turn your car off THIS IS NOT THE ONE !!!

I have used many bluetooth earphones. Although many of them sound Ok but the most common problem is that the person at the other end can't hear you well. My two GPS devices also have bluetooth capability for cell phones but with the same problem: the other person can't hear you well. The Motorokr T505 solved that problem. People at the other end can not tell the difference whether I am using the cellphone (Motorola V9 with ATT, a great sounding phone)or the speakerphone. The sound coming out of this device is loud enough and very clear. Cliped on the sunvisor, you are totally handsfree and "ear-free" so you dont have to take it off your ear to listen to music when not on the phone. Turning it on and off is easy, and very easy to use in general. I have no comments on the battery life yet since I dont chat for too long in the car. But I find charging it in the car is easy. I use it exclusively in the car where this device is supposed to be. I use a bluetooth earphone outside the car. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to use it in the car.

Hering Problems?

I bought this for my 79 year old mother who uses hearing aids. Every other Blue Tooth device did not work for her. She lives in California when on July 1, 2008 she will not be able to talk on the Sell Phone when driving, without a hands free device. This works fantastic. It was easy for her to figure out, and use. The volume with the built in speaker works great and when she needs higher volume the FM radio feature blows her away. She has been using it for one week and has fallen in all over again. She has referred several friends to it.

I got this for a family member. I liked it so much that I took it to work and my department decided to purchase 128 units. If an electrical engineer thinks it great, you'll love it.

Almost Perfect

Internal speaker phone sounds great on this end, but a little far away for the person on the other end.

FM Transmitter works great but sound quality through speakers is not perfect.

Buttons on front are easy to access and understand. I keep forgetting which buttons on the back are for 'Turn on FM Transmitter' and 'Turn on whole unit'

Bluetooth range is great and setup is super easy.

Battery lasts a really long time without recharging if just using Bluetooth and FM Transmitter.

Uses the same power connector as my ROKR cell phone.

Everything works just as well on my RAZR 2.

I purchased this unit because of a new CA law requiring hands free kit's.
I like the unit, it works well. People can't tell I'm using a hands free kit. Volume is sufficient through the unit even at freeway speeds. But having your call come through the car stereo, I have to crank the volume to a VERY high level. So I just rely on the built in speaker.

Disappointing

I bought this based on other positive reviews and was extremely disappointed. People can't hear me when I'm speaking, especially when the car is moving and there is some background noise. The volume on the device speaker is also inadequate for me to hear others. The FM modulator is a nice function but impractical for calls if you're listening to the radio, as you have to change to the designated station to make or take a call. It paired fine with one of my phones, it would not pair at all with another.

This product is great. Crystal clear sound through the built in speaker and through the FM channel. This was also the easiest Bluetooth device that I have ever had to "pair". I just put my phone in discovery mode and that was it. I didn"t even have to type in the generic 0000 "pairing passcode" that seems to be needed for EVERY Bluetooth device in the world. I highly recommend this product.
