If Quenton Tarantino made a video game this is what it would look like.

I loved the game all the way through. Great on many levels. So simple and yet has many tiny things most wouldn't notice till mentioned. The game is excellent. Stylish to the max
Mature? Not really, but still a ton of fun that shouldn't be missed if you own a Wii.

This was the mature action game that every Wii owner was waiting for, and while it may be quite what anyone expected, it is still one of the more solid and original action games available. If you're a Wii owner who is old enough to purchase this game, I'd say it's worth a rent at the very least.
The graphics may not be the most technically impressing, but they are certainly interesting. Some people may not appreciate the style Grasshopper decided to go with here, but I really like it. It's very colorful, and I would say different, but cel-shading has become somewhat common now. It was a good way to make a game look good without exposing the weak hardware of the Wii. On the more technical side, the load times are fairly quick, and not all that common thankfully. This keeps you in the action, the less downtime in this game the better. There's some really bad collision detection when driving, but it's absolutely fine when on-foot, which makes no sense to me. Some of the animations could have been done better as well, again mostly when driving. There aren't really any glitches or anything, but I have heard of people's games freezing, but I never experienced this.
The soundtrack is surprisingly good in this game. The songs are very catchy, if not a little repetitive. I actually downloaded the soundtrack once I finished the game. The voice work is another nice surprise, and is much better than initial trailers made it out to be. The sound effects themselves are pretty solid, nothing really spectacular but they do their job. Well, I take that back. The screams of your fallen enemies are pretty spectacular.
The game-play is by far the best part. It's very simple at it's core, but as you play more you learn to string together combos to interrupt your enemies and basically make it so they can't even hit them as you tear through them one by one. The finishing moves and wrestling moves are both very satisfying to pull off, but I like the dismemberment the finishing moves provide the best. By the way, this is a really gory game. You probably won't see more blood flying around on screen on another game ever. Keep in mind the blood doesn't look real at all, but I felt I should mention it to remind people that this game isn't for kids. It also contains a fair amount of swearing and some pretty suggestive scenes. For those of us that are old enough, this is all a good thing and is a nice escape from reality. As I mentioned before, the driving segments suck, but unless you want to take forever to get from location to location they're pretty much mandatory. The game is fairly easy up until the last 3 bosses, who can be quite a challenge. The storyline, while better than I was expecting it to be, is still pretty lackluster and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It is an action game though, and no one was truly expecting an engrossing story, just lots of blood, death, and fun, and this game provides it.
This game is just about having fun, pretty much what games were originally intended. I have a new respect for Suda-51 and those at Grasshopper who worked on this game. They know how to make fun games, plain and simple. They don't need fancy graphics or anything, they have what's most important: game-play.
An Extremely Strong Flavor

As the reviews here prove, this is a game you will either love or hate. It's over-the-top with style - punk style. Some don't seem to realize that the lack of fine gloss is an intentional part of that style, but oh well. I wouldn't force it on anybody, but it would be a crying shame if it doesn't find it's audience.
The gameplay is as follows:
1. Take a menial job to earn money - these are quick mini-games which are hilarious and fun. This will open up
2. Carry out an assassination job - hack and slash w/in set parameters, time limits, etc.
3. Once you have enough money take on a boss (after you hack and slash your way through his identical henchmen)
You can also buy upgrades to clothes/equipment/abilities etc. in ways that can also be fun and hilarious. People complain about the "dead" city, but I enjoy just driving around - there's a lot of detail to see, in-jokes etc. You can dig up treasure, kick open dumpsters, search back alleys, and so forth.
Overall, this is a tribute to videogames of all kinds. The "feel" of it is closest to Viewtiful Joe, though I can't entirely explain why. The combat is described as button-mashing, but if you read the manual you can see that it is deeper than that - you'll need the extra technique to beat higher difficulties.
Generally, I try to enumerate things that might bug people, but here it's impossible - either the whole thing will quickly annoy and frustrate you to madness, or you'll eat it up like candy.
Inspiring

I'm an old school RPG gamer and still working on games from the early 90's. This is one of the first next-gen games I gave a shot, partially because of the price and partially because of the reviews.
Let's just say, to me, this game is amazing. I would like to disagree with the critical reviews in every way.
The graphics work great for the game; they are an anime style most people will enjoy. The shading is also very colorful contrary to the reviews.
The level of gore IS a lot more extreme than Resident Evil or House of the Dead, both of which I played long before this game. Also there is a lot of cussing....
The game play is much more complex than flinging the remote around. You attack high and low, you stun high and low, you recharge your weapon, you block high and low, you dodge enemy attacks high and low, you use finishing moves, and you use throwing moves. The controls are simple, but when you play long enough, battle is a complex and rewarding experience.
The game, in general, is about the main character wanting to become the best assassin. He is the 11th best assassin and must kill the top 10 to be the best. The boss battles are the 10 top assassins and there are plenty of enemies in between. Between boss battles you need to complete missions and earn money. With the money you can train and develop your character.
Over all, this game is a lot of fun, complex combat, good story and dialog, and tons of gore. I would recommend this to any fan of action games.
Don't Buy this Game.

This game is definately not worth 50 bucks. The controls are terrible. The game itself becomes boring and repetitive very quickly. At first the blood and guts (coins?) looks cool but without fun gameplay even that gets tired. I expected so much more than this.
Great adult game for the Wii
2008-07-22
The Wii has very few adult games. This is one the better if not the best one so far. The game play, while a bit repetative and not too clean graphicly, is always fun and involving. The story is really the best part of it. You fight to become the top ranked assassin, so you can "do it" with your liason Silvia. The game is a laugh riot. With jerking off your beam katana to recharge it, splitting your enemies in half to be showered in blood, and getting naked to train with your master. Not alot of thought involved, just your good old fashioned crude adult humor. A must have for those of you who "bought a Wii for the kids" and secretly play it when they go to bed.
This game is DA BOMB!!!!!!!!! ( In an excellent way)

This is the best 3rd party game I have played for WII. The graphics and storyline are done superb. No more heroes is one of the only adult theme games that is on the WII. Other games use violences meaninglessly to fill game contain but this game is not only of them. The control action of the WII remote and chuck is remarkable. If you like games with great plot and action than Heroes is a must. Get this game you will not regret it!!!!!
Great Game

excellent game defently takes a step away from Nintendo's nice image. Very very fun game.
Lightsabre carnage...manga style!!!

this game is so whacky in its storyline and dialogue that it must have come from the minds of the great minds at ubisoft. fighting sequences are so violent and bloody but hella fun...especially when u nail a boss with a wrestling move. the side jobs u do to earn cash are so ridiculously mundane compared to the rest of the game that i cant help but laugh. seriously now...mowing the lawn and picking coconuts? lol. i love this game.
Weird But Fun and Addictive
2008-07-08
It's a strange game. Lots of blood. It does get repetitive though. It goes through a formula and repeats it over and over. The combat is also pretty much the same. But the combat is fun, though redundant. The combat does not really evolve and introduce any new fighting concepts that you don't already know from the tutorial. The boss fights are interesting character-wise but gameplay-wise, nothing too interesting or different. I think that the boss are interesting-looking characters. There are some humorous parts. And the story is kinda confusing and weird which is pretty much what I expected given that it's Suda 51 (the man who did Killer 7)
