Not that great

The instruction book is poorly written but even following it as best as possible, this is a very hard product to clean. Worse, trying to put it back together is next to impossible. Example - it says to turn the chain counter clockwise. I even had a rather stong man try to turn it and he couldn't either. If it turns at all, I have yet to figure it out.

I received this product in July. The doughnut maker came in wonderful condition like it was brand new!!! The only thing I had a problem was the recipe to make the dougnuts. It said to use flour but the dougnut were not round with the holes. It tasted okay but im just going to buy the doughnut mix instead.

Buy this product its worth it!!

1st One Broken & 2nd One Disappointing

I had researched and ordered this for my husband's birthday and thought the family would have a great time making the doughnuts together for his birthday. I bought the ingredients ahead of time and when they mixed it up and started it, we found that the dough dispenser did not dispense. Now we had to clean and repackage the unit for return, print return labels, go to the post office and wait for the new unit. The new unit arrived and the dough dispenser works, but the batter heats up at the bottom as the machine runs and clogs the opening, so although the batter recipe is designed to make several dozen doughnuts, you have to stop and constantly clean out and refill the batter dispenser. Ugh! Not worth the time, effort and expense. Very disappointing. It was so difficult to prepare for return, that a discount should have been issued to compensate for the trouble. Now we have a full-priced machine that only partially works.

This product did not produce a single doughnut, and it broke itself, jammed things and got stuck all the while the hot oil metal pan was melting parts of the plastic.

Supposed to be a surprise, was a big disappointment. First machine was inoperable out of the box. Ordered another, just as disappointed, each donut had to be hand turned to fry. Hope to find a better product.

Taste of heaven

I have a friend who owns the donut machine and its great! It's relatively easy to use, and the warm donuts are tasty. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to put some excitment into their dinner party. It is definately something people are wow'ing about when they see it in motion. People who wrote negative comments about it, either do not know how to operate the unit, or just do not care of the aquired taste of the end product. Try it, you won't be left disappointed.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

This machine should not even be for sale. The doughnuts are greasy thin strings and the machine doesn't turn them like it is supposed to, so they are over done on one side. Even in adjusting the dough, which I originally made exactly according to the enclosed recipe, it did not work properly. The doughnuts were not so stringy then, but the machine still failed to turn them, leaving them doughy on one side and over done on the other side. Cleanup is a nightmare. The oil bin does not come out, and you cannot get to the back of it to clean it, nor can you get under the flippers to clean, not to mention that you cannot clean the flippers. It would not even be sanitary to use time after time, as they indicate in their advertisement. I would not recommend this machine to anyone.

Better than you've heard

We recently spent a night making doughnuts with dinner guests. Yes, this is not a professional doughnut maker--but what did you expect for $100?

Once we got the hang of the process, we were cranking out tasty little hot doughnuts. They didn't flip every time, but a timely fork intervention took care of everything. And the basic doughnut recipe is delicious.

The gold standard in homemade doughtnuts. Worth every penny in entertainment value.
