Customer Reviews
Poorest quality power sander ever owned
2008-06-13
The detail attachments that would otherwise make this tool useful vs. a normal orbital sander (and why I gave the brand the benefit of the doubt and tried it) are held in place with a machine screw that mounts into a plastic housing. In literally less than one hour of use the same day of purchase, the mount had broken out of the base. This led to excess vibration of the attachments, and thus very quickly to the breakage of the (also) plastic tabs that help hold them in the tool. The superglue I used to hold it together to finish the ONE job I started after purchasing new made for a stronger joint than the original, but attachments would no longer mount correctly. More interesting, the built-in pressure sensor (a worthless feature) never even went red to indicate pressure high enough to damage the workpiece, and yet the tool still came apart at its seams. Even the "flat" attachment to mount the regular sheets of sandpaper would no longer hold solidly to the base. I am a woodworker with a serious shop, but not a professional. This is without doubt the poorest quality tool I have purchased/used in 15+ years. Coupled with the high price of velcro-backed sandpaper (no clips are used to hold sandpaper to base on this model) makes this a tool completely unworthy of recommendation.
