This razor gives me the best shave ever! Normally, shaving my legs results in irritated skin. The Gillette Venus line has always worked fairly well for me, but the Embrace is by far the best of the line. My legs are smooth and remain so for a good three to four days, thanks to the close shave this razor's five blades provide. The refill blades are more expensive -- even more expensive than the refills for the other razors in the Venus line -- but I'm willing to pay extra for results this good!

there are definite pro's and con's with this razor, and their all pretty big in my opinion..
Pro:
5 blades give you a super close shave
squishy grip makes it easy to hold onto and control
moisture strips seem to hold up alot longer than the original venus
the shower caddy is small and blends in with tile
Con:
extreamly expensive!! replacement blades are $12+
large head is difficult to manuver around crevices and does not get all hair from bikini area
shower caddy only holds two blades
moisture strips and rubber around head hold onto hairs, hard to clean
overall the razor is ok, its good for leg shaving but very difficult to do any underarm/bikini areas, not to mention its probably the most expensive razor i've ever seen.. its been good while i've had it but i doubt i'll purchase it again, its way too expensive to not be able to shave all areas of the body i'd like.
unique shape gives great results 2008-05-22
I've tried a lot of different razors looking for great results and I have to say that this is the best one I have found. There are so many curved areas on a woman's leg that it really is tricky to find a razor that can handle all of them but the unique shape of the Venus blade and it's flexible razor head gets the job done nicely.
I also liked the holder the razor came with - it mounted nicely in my shower and makes the razor last longer because it isn't getting soaked in water all the time.
The same as my regular (and less expensive) Venus! 2008-05-22
I have been a devout Venus user since it came out a few years ago. I figured I'd give the Venus Embrace a shot since it had more blades and it got positive reviews. The shave was exactly the same as I have with my regular Venus razor. The head of the razor is also bigger than the original Venus, which made it harder to get a close shave in certain areas.
I really like the shower pod and I plan to use it with my regular Venus razor if the handle fits. As for this one, I'll use it until the two cartridges are dull and then I'm going to toss it.
Close shave 2008-07-18
While I found the product to be good, I also discovered, shortly afterward, that they make a disposable razor that is cheaper to buy than the replacement blades needed for the Gillette Venus Embrace Razor. My only problem with this razor is that the moisterizer around the blades didn't last through just one shaving of my legs. I still have to use shaving foam when using this razor.
The shave is close and I didn't cut myself once. Its easy to clean in the shower which means a lot to me. The shower mount didn't work for me but I have wavy tiles in my shower and I believe that was the reason. The blades last long and shave close, but in the future I believe I will buy the disposables which work just as well.

Gillette Venus Embrace Razor - Great Razor; Holder Aweful 2008-07-17
I have had the opportunity to use the Gillette Venus Embrace Razor. The product is great. The holder fell off of the shower wall within a day. It was very annoying. The design of the holder was interesting and pleasing. Now, if you can get it to stay on the shower tile wall, it will be great.

Like men's razors, women's razors are getting more multi-bladed. I've been using Venus razors since the first came out because they seem to be the only razors that don't leave me looking like a slasher film victim when I'm done. The Embrace has five blades and that's pretty much the only difference (besides the pretty green color). You'll pay a little more for replacement blades but the razor will hold any Venus head.
Get The Gillette Venus Embrace for Shaving Newbies! 2008-07-09
I was really impressed when this razor arrived. I loved that it came with a replacement head and that it had a storage rack with suction cups, so it could be placed out of the reach of children. The razor itself had a great "soft" grip and a nice wide moisture strip. But...
... the Cons --
The wide "face" on this razor kept it from delivering a close shave even though there were 5 blades. When I used it on my legs I found that it didn't get REALLY close, although it was very maneuverable. When my husband tried it, he found the same thing, plus the wide head meant that it really couldn't be easily used as a man's razor because there were places it just wouldn't go-- like under the nose.
Still... the Pros --
Where this razor absolutely excelled was the 'nick' test. I found that no matter how fast I shaved my legs I never came close to cutting myself, even around the knee. In fact, I am so impressed with this razor that I called my sister to recommend that she get it for my nieces who are just getting to the age where they will soon be shaving.
I think this is an ideal razor for shaving newbies.

No Doubt About It - This is a Nice Razor. However . . . 2008-06-30
I've used Venus razors for years, and the Venus Embrace is a cut above the more standard Venus offerings. A gel handle makes this razor easier to control than previous models. No nicks, No razor burn, and the moisturizing ribbon around the blades helps the razor glide very smoothly. So why not rate it five stars?
Two problems
First, the pod that is supposed to stay on the shower wall doesn't. At least, on my shower wall, it stays for only three hours. Then I hear "bump, clank," and it's down again. After three trys, I gave up! The extra blade will stay in the cabinet until needed.
Second, the price of additional blades is high. You'll have to decide if the extra performance of this razor (nice) is worth the $3.00+ for a refill blade (not so nice in my book).
Will this razor replace my earlier Venus razors? Probably not, but, of course, this is a personal issue, so you'll be the judge.
