Good Deal for the Price!

I got this on Just Deals and I'm happy with the product. However, on the down side, the signal ain't that great and the model I have doesn't have captions as well. But on the up side, I have an LCD monitor and the picture is just perfect and does its job! So if you're looking to have your monitor as a tv set, then try this one out! Even though the signal ain't that great, you can actually get a signal amplifier. And I'll do just that!

This product does exactly what it says it will do: its a TV tuner for any monitor with a connection to your PC as well. The S-video, component, and composite-in are very useful as well, and a feature you won't find with many internal TV-tuners. It works well and worth the price paid for it.

If you have an older monitor lying around taking up space, then you can turn it into a high-res television set and save lots of money. That's what I did and I cannot believe that I waited so long to do so! I have a one-bedroom apartment with a larger tv in the living room, so I purchased the Stand-Alone VGA TV Tuner, hooked up the monitor, connected cheap computer speakers, attached my spare DVD player and use my cable connection for a perfect bedroom setup. The remote is surprisingly handier than other remotes that come with name-brand units... what a bonus!
Besides the simple, yet well-rounded features, so far the unit has held up to hours of operation. I used to sleep to the clock radio, but now leave my monitor-tv on all night. I sometimes forget to program the Sleep Mode (10 minute intervals to 90 minutes) and have found myself waking up to the operating unit. We are talking more than a couple of months of this kind of use/abuse and I still think that this is one of the best buys I have made ever! Soooooo worth it!!
