Great way to store knives especially if you can get it for under 10 bucks!

I bought this in a Gold Box deal for under 10 bucks. It is powerful and can hold all your big knives easily. It also looks clean and frees up your counter space. It also keeps my knives rust free as they air dry quickly on this magnet after I wash them.
It comes with 2 screws to help you attach it to the wall. I've hung it vertically in my kitchen based on the space I had and it still holds the knives easily.
Very Strong

Great Knife Storage. I got rid of the old block of wood that was holding my knives, 11 in all, and replaced it with this magnet. I got it as a gold box special for $9.99, excellent value for that price.
A great alternative!

This is a great alternative for cutlery storage. Magnet is powerful enough to hold even a small ax :)
Great knife magnet

Very strong knife magnet.Simple and clean looking.I acquired it during a Gold Box deal so the value ($9.99) was unbeatable. It will easily accommodate a full knife block as well as a steak knife set as long as your steak knives are not over sized.Would definitely buy another set for the cabin since we have so little counter space.
Good Deal

This was a great buy, and I love it! Easy to put up, strong magnet, and best of all - no more knife block on my small apartment kitchen counters!
It's well worth $10

Storing your favorite knives on a wall-mounted magnetic bar protects them from knocking around in a cluttered drawer where they can get dull and nicked. The bar lets you see the knife you want at a glance, so you don't have to pull several handles out of a wood storage block to find the right blade. And, let's face it, knives just look cool stuck to a wall bar. Bodum has infused this 19-inch magnet with gold, which isn't magnetic itself, but which enhances the magnetic properties of the steel. The result is an extra-strong pull that keeps even your formidable chef's knife secure. Best on the whole for small or medium-sized knives, the magnet comes with a wall-mounting template and hardware, and is perfect for compact kitchens where counter and drawer space is limited.

It works very well

Not sure what everyone is whinging about. This is well worth the money. I purchased a similar magnet for my screwdrivers. The one I purchased from a tool department from the local hardware store cost about $20 dollars. THAT one was only 10 inches long, and the magnetism was not as strong. This one is much longer and well built. I can fit all my knives and some of my metal serving spoons on the wall. A great solution for those who currently keep their knives in a drawer. No more sliced fingers! Out of the way for children! Very convenient!!
Better than my previous Ikea version

I had an Ikea brand kitchen knife magnet and have been a bit disappointed in it, as the magnets are spaced on the back of the rack--and force your knives into spots that you might not like them to be, at times causing them to rub together or be far apart, creating an uneven spacing...
This rack, on the other hand, is awesome! It is shorter (that part is too bad--and the reason I only put 4 stars) than my previous version, but because it is an evenly magnetized bar, I can put my knives anywhere, and it holds all of the knives I had on my 21" bar from Ikea.
It is very strong--I use Wusthof knives--and have 2 large chef knives, a long bread knife, sandwich knife, tomato knife, 2 all purpose knives, 2 paring knives, and a bird beak knife--all on there securely and safely. I could even add a couple more small ones (or one large) as long as I am careful not to let them touch.
These magnetic racks keep your blades sharp (no wooden block to dull them) and stored safely (no reaching into the drawer).
The finish is nice--very modern and easy to clean. The installation took minutes.
I wish I had the opportunity to buy more of these at the lightening deal price (9.99) but I must say that at the higher price, it's still not a bad deal. I paid 30 for the Ikea one that looked "okay" (it had exposed screws, where this one has the screws hidden)... and expecting that this is going to be a permenant fixture in the kitchen, the regular Amazon price isn't too bad.
Nice Useful and Stylish Accessory

If you read the reviews, you'll notice that most people (or maybe no one) paid $70 for this magnet. I wouldn't even consider it at that price. But for less than $10, it's a great deal, and solves a big problem. That is having sharp knives in a drawer ready to cut you, or getting dull rubbing each other.
The magnet is strong enough to support large knives. It looks good. And mounts relatively easily with the 2 included screws.
Free shipping from Amazon clinches the deal. If you don't have one, the next time the discount comes along, grab one. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I'm completely satisfied with this purchase.
Only worth $9.99 paid

It's hard to imagine the regular price of this item getting any buyers. I bought it on one of the lightening deals after reading one of the reviewer's plans to use it to hold office supplies which I thought was a great idea. It is nice quality thin perforated stainless steel bar which unlike some Chinese stainless hopefully will not rust. It has to be nailed or screwed to a wall though. I was planning to use it on my lateral metal file cabinet which of course I cannot unless I use double faced foam tape which may not be strong enough to hold the weight of scissors or a stapler. It may end up on the garage wall for small metal tools or a gift in the Goodwill box.
