Very attractive shoe and once broken in, worked as well as the previous models! This shoe feels a little heavier than the last pair of 2120's, however.

excellent running shoes and very stable. bought based on shape magazine top rating and they havent let me down. they are very stable and just what i need after recovering from a broken leg. light weight. excellent

I started buying Asics three years ago, and I have never wanted for anything else. This GT-2130 shoe is very comfortable and really supports my foot during heel to toe strike off. The shoe is very lightweight. I love all the color choices. Last month I purchased both the black and the python. The 2000 series has been a great choice for me.
EXCELLENT! 2008-04-08
Beautiful, super confy, I love them. This is my fourth pair since the 2110 model and they just keep making them prettier and comfortable. Great arch support, I love the IGS and cushioning.
So disappointed! New model causes serious ankle pain.

I have been running in the Asics GT-2000 series shoe for the past four years. I have stuck with them through multiple new models, and each time I genuinely felt that the changes were an improvement.
Unfortunately, I recently upgraded from the GT-2120s to the GT-2130s. Much to my dismay, when I was halfway into a 13 mile run, I started experiencing severe pain where the edge of the shoe hit my right ankle. I had to stop every half-mile / mile for the next hour or so, trying futilely to adjust the shoe so that it did not hurt.
When I got home I did some experimentation and found that the GT-2130s have been redesigned so that the inner edge of the right shoe hits 1/4" higher on my ankle than the GT-2120s.
I am so upset that Asics ruined my favorite shoe! They are completely unwearable and now I have to find a new brand. My only hope is that, like New Coke, the folks at Asics will realize how stupid it is to ruin something that everyone likes, and go back to their normal design in their next model.
