Works well, but...

The Swann DVR8-Net-8000 DVR+Camera Kit does work well and somewhat easy to set-up. Non Internet setup is very easy. However, the Internet setup will be confusing and difficult for those without experience involving Networks, Router Ports, IT stuff... regardless of the "easy setup" claims. It will only connect to one computer using the internet at a time. A flaw causes the DVR to stop working properly when two internet users attempt to access at the same time. The problem is easily fixed by a reboot of the DVR. The hard drive crashed after 3 weeks but has been replaced by using the warrany. Customer support was polite and helpful. The documentation and manual are too basic and assume you are an IT professional. I have been very happy with the purchase and would recommend to people with an IT background (or support) if you want it for internet use. Newer, better, yet more expensive models may be a better option for some.
