Light and just ok
2008-08-23
This album is lighter compared to their other stuff. If you are buying this album because you loved the singles, "Scream aim fire" and "Waking the demon", and you like it heavier then don't buy this album. It doesn't get much heavier than those two.
I had high expectations for this album and I was surprised to find it a little higher than sub-par.
3.5 all around...good album, just don't be surprised if you're not completely satisfied.
One of the best new releases

Scream Aim Fire is getting notorious for being Bullet for my Valentine's second album, and there are debates as to whether their first album, The Poison, is better or worse. It is true, that the band has altered their sound slightly, but it certainly DOES NOT make it worse or takes away from BFMV's talent. The Poison was more of a metal-core album, with most of the songs being related to love and breakups, whereas SAF is more reminiscent of classic, 80's metal. Whether you will like this album better than The Poison is based on your own taste.
1. Scream Aim Fire - 10/10. Powerful and attention catching.
2. Eye of the Storm - 7/10. Weakest song on the album, but that too bad.
3. Heart Burst Into Fire - 10/10. Powerful and emotional, and a joy to listen to.
4. Waking The Demon - 10/10. Amazingly powerful and catchy.
5. Disappear - 10/10. Good song.
6. Deliver Us From Evil - 10/10. Probably the band's next single.
7. Take it out on Me - 9/10. Awesome.
8. Say Goodnight - 9/10. A sweet ballad.
9. End of Days - 10/10. Great.
10. Last to Know - 8.5/10.
11. Forever and Always - 10/10. A great power ballad.
Almost every single song on this album is extremely catchy and I never skip any of them. I recommend this album to any hard rock or metal fan.
Solid 3.8

A strong and surprisingly heavy CD. Excellent in terms of quality. Recording is awesome and the guitar work isnt half bad. These guys are probably the best at this new age metal stuff, and this time they went a little heavier. There are still the little melodies and harmonizing in the choruses, Though vocally it is rougher, which is good from where i stand. Honestly, its not THAT much different from the last disc, just better produced. And there are some very commercial moments like on 'Hearts Burst into Fire' and 'Say Goodnight'..Those i could do without..
These guys are young and at least selling some CD's to the masses. Could have been a lot worse seeing todays music climate. It is encouraging to see they followed up a good release like 'The Poison' with possibly a better effort. Definitely has some heavy moments. Not perfect, but I like it.
Really Incredible

This album was a work of pure genius! I gotta tell you, B4MV is really consistant. Check out the song Waking the Demon. It might be on par with Tears Don't Fall! And make sure to get the bonus song, Ashes of the Innocent, cause its great!
Not as good as "The Poison," but definitely not bad.

"Scream Aim Fire" really isn't as bad as everyone seems to keep saying. There are several standout tracks that make the album's purchase well worth it. "Scream Aim Fire," "Eye of the Storm," "Waking the Demon," "End of Days," and "Last to Know." BFMV really changes their musical style with this album. I will agree that with this particular album, BFMV doesn't set themselves apart from the rest, but the talent is still there. It may not be as intricate and flawless as their debut, but it's still worth a listen. Most of the songs are quite catchy and you may find youself singing along. I do HIGHLY recommend BFMV's debut album, "The Poison." It is, in my opinion, the best album of all time. Certainly if you're reviewing "Scream Aim Fire" you've heard the debut album, but if not... Buy it. Or download it.
Not Much Getting Me Excited

I've listened to this a few times. It's not that bad, but it's not that good either. Scream Aim Fire has its good parts, but I don't care for the lame "over the top" chant. A few of the songs sound like pop metal. My theory holds true about the triangle of doom: album titles, the first track and first single. If a band releases an album called Scream Aim Fire, Track #1 is Scream Aim Fire, and the first single is Scream Aim Fire, the album doesn't have a lot to offer. It's the Bermuda Triangle of Death for an album full of filler that won't stand the test of time. I'll probably be back to listening to "The Poison" waiting for the next album to turn things around.
World Class Rock!

Wow i cant believe there arent any lengthy reviews for this album! this band is amazing, lyrically, musically, the guitar and drum work is unbelieveable.. these guys believe what they say and know how to put it all together. This is heart pounding metal it ats best.. i highly highly recommend~!
Not as good as their last album...Still Musically Gifted...

Musically gifted..This album is recommended..Its better than most stuff thats out today...I enjoyed their previous albums a lot more but this still was a good listen..The 80's songs that people are referring to is hearts burst into fire the others don't really feel 80'ish to me..This is great new music and I definitely needed something to listen to since most music today sucks..
Great band, bad album

Loved Hand of Blood and The Poison and was looking forward to the new CD.
Finally bought it tonight and couldn't be more disappointed. It's total garbage at a Biblical proportion. Awesome guitar work - gone. Any semblance of inspired song writing - gone. Half the album is a blatant attempt to get on rock radio and sounds like a mid-80's hair band trying to get on MTV, but no one would have liked it back then because the songs aren't any good. More than 90% of the vocals are now clean, which I wouldn't necessarily mind if not for the previous flaws I listed. My gal absolutely hates metal and she'd like more songs on it than me - I wish I was kidding. Even the heavy songs are either boring or blatant KSE or ATR rip-offs. You'd think their label, management or even a good friend would say, "Umm, fellas? You mind telling me just what the hell you're doing here?" If I ever listen to it again it will be in like six months, I'll be drunk as hell and thinking to myself, "It couldn't have been THAT bad, could it?" And it will sound even worse. Damn.
where's Napster when you need them?

The title track, which is their single is amazing. I assumed that was their sound. I bought both of their cds at the same time and should've reviewed more. The cd starts off with the title track. The next two are almost as good. Then it gets more and more like emo as it goes on. I thought they would release the most radio friendly as the single and the rest would be like Children Of Bodom. Instead I heard a Metallica Master Of Puppets single and the rest is Reload!
