weight not distributed
2008-06-15
This weight vest is made for a bigger guy. The chest straps are non adjustable so I have to wear a belt around the vest to keep it close to my body. The weights are in 8lbs sacks - two in the front and three on the back two low and one in the middle. It would have been better to have the weight evenly distributed around the vest not just in those five places. My shoulders are not wide enough so I ended up getting bruises on them from wearing the vest. If I did this again, I would buy one that has the weight more evenly distributed and the straps adjustable. The material the vest is made out of seems to be holding up.
Product came damaged!

One of the weights came leaking all over and when I called the company they said if I wanted to ship it back at my cost they would be happy to send out another! Not exactly standing behind your merchandise! That same week I recieved a damaged weight glove from another company and they shipped out another and told me not to worry about the damaged one, that is more the kind of company I was expecting. I love Amazon but you ought to be more careful about your vendors and their policies!
Fair price - limited usability

I ordered this vest a few months ago. It is among the cheapest vests available and it gets the job done for those who will use it while walking, running, or for exercises like push-ups.
Unfortunately, I have found it to be very uncomfortable to use when doing dips or pull-ups. Another minus is the fact that the weight can only be adjusted by removing weight packs of 8 lbs. Since the vest has five 8lb packs, removing one will make the vest feel unbalanced and interfere with your workout.
Lastly, if you're somewhat slim (6'5''- 200lbs), it will be hard to adjust the vest enough for it to feel fitted.
I have tried on 'Go-fit's' vest and have found it to be *A LOT* more comfortable and fitted regardless of what you use it for. You can also adjust it's weight more easily as it has small packs of 1+ lbs. This vest however is $120+. If you can spend the money and you plan to do push-ups, pull-ups, and/or dips - go for it.
