Finally, an interference-free phone 2008-10-12
I've been through three phones in just a little over a year, trying to find one that did it all. Actually, the last one (also an AT&T Dect 6) was interference-free too but it wasn't compatible with a headset--which I thought I could deal with and couldn't.

Anyway, this one is a treat. I use Vonage (VoIP connection) for calls, which means the phone base is within a few inches to a few feet of my computer, the VoIP box, the cable connectors (my computer and phone run off it, as well as various TVs and a high-def TV box), and a NetGear wireless box...and absolutely nothing bothers it. My quite deaf 82-year-old mom can hear me remarkably well, which is the ultimate test.

Controls are intuitive; set-up was simple; built-in speaker is handy; inputting info is as easy as any model is these days; and as someone else noted, range is huge--honestly, zero complaints.

Well, okay, one cosmetic kvetch: It only comes in a silver-gray combo with lots of labels and logos cluttering up the exterior. The previous (non-headset-friendly) AT&T model I had looked terrif--sleek, black, stylish even, and almost logo-free. Needless to say, it's been discontinued. But otherwise, this one works well and sounds great. Any phone you can say that about today earns all the stars.

Best phone I ever purchased 2008-09-17
I live in Jamaica and I have tried a number of cordless phones and have never been entirely happy with them. Short Battery life, Range not good, sound quality poor. With this phone, all the rooms in the house that did not afford us service we can use the phone there now. The range is very good and the sound quality is good inside and out. The instrument is easy to program and use. The additional features are all positives to the teens in the family. Like the fact that you can add more phones to the system simply by plugging in the electrical cord. I will be purchasing another unit to add to mine for convenience in the Family room. You buy what you can afford and add as you need to.

Awsome phone, a few minor flaws 2008-09-13
i have been using this phone for 2 months now. the battery life, voice quality are both very good. handset is also light, and comfortable to hold.

everythings almost perfect, except for some minor wrinkles..
1 no battery indicator.. only when the phone needs to be recharged do i get a flashing battery sign
2 at max volume setting, i can hear the caller well. i would have prefferred a few more "bars" of amplification
3 pretty limited choice of ringtones, also most of the ringtones are pretty bad.

Phones 2008-09-11
All the features I want. Nice design..easy to hold, easy to operate. Sound quality good.

Quality phone 2008-09-07
This product lives up to the AT&T legacy...it is easy to use, comfortable to hold, durable, and has a large viewing screen which is clear and easy to understand. The DECT6.0 works flawlessly with my DSL and there is no interference from other electronics such as my mobile or iPod. I would recommend this phone to all my friends and family.

Surrprisingly Good 2008-09-04

Great Phone, Great Price 2008-08-27
AT&T SL82218 DECT6.0 Digital Dual Handset Answering System (Titanium and Carbonite)

Fantastic phone. Great sound quality but volume adjustments not for the hard of hearing. No problems with home wireless network. Range away from base station to 300 feet so far without loss of signal. Comfortable to hold and lightweight. Super Buy.

AT&T SL82558 Cordless Phone System 2008-08-23
Without question, this is the best cordless phone I have ever owned. It is extremely clear and without any background noise at all.

My wife can walk the entire subdivision and never loose contact, using the intercom feature (cordless handset to cordless handset).

I have received a phone call while at the neighbors, 4 homes away -(believe that this can work even further away, never tried).

Incredible range, security & clearness (very clear voice, both on this and receiving end). Easy to setup and use. Voices on answering machine are very clear. 5 out of 5 stars, very highly recommended.

So far, so great! 2008-08-20
I've had these phones for about a month and so far, we love them. They don't interfere with my WIFI and they have great reach. I can talk on the phone at least 200 feet from my house.

Still new, but so far, so good 2008-08-18
I've had the phone for only a month, but I like it. A lot. It does everything I wanted it for.

I'm assuming that when I have ATT U-verse installed it will be completely compatible with that system.
