Talking caller ID not very useful 2008-07-27
I bought this phone today specifically for the talking caller ID. This is a relatively old feature, although perhaps not for the DECT 6.0 technology. My Panasonic answering machine that is 12 years old has this and it works very well. It also announces the caller phone number within the first ring or two. The new one takes longer. Worse, the new machine only announces "call from cellular phone" rather than announcing the cell phone number when you get a call from a cell phone. My old phone announces the phone number for ALL phones unless they're unlisted. Since probably half the phone calls I get are from cell phones, in my mind this makes the talking ID feature pretty useless. Hopefully there's a fix for this or the new phone is going back where I bought it. Anyone else notice this problem?

Everything I was looking for and more 2008-06-30
What a great phone. I was surprised on how clear this phone is and it even talks. If the number is stored, it will announce the name you created with that number. If not, it will announce the number calling. No more running to see the caller ID message.

My only regret is that I didn't order the three handset system so to replace all my phones with this system. Mainly due to each handset will announce who is calling as well as the base station. Another nice feature is after you enter your address book, every handset will acknowledge the address book so you don't have to enter it in each handset. Panasonic does offer additional handsets for this system but they run about $40 each so it's more cost effective if you know going in how many handsets you want.

Great sound but not so user friendly 2008-06-25
This phone has great sound on both ends and on the speakerphones. It also lets you enter your often used numbers only once for all handsets, which is very nice, and the handsets hold a charge for an extraordinarily long time. Playing back messages is not intuitive, although I expect if I reread the instructions, I will have no problem. The price varied a lot across vendors, so look for the deals!

not as good as I had hoped 2008-05-31
sound quality - good
ease of use - just OK

Frustrating stuff:

the remote menu to delete messages, etc. is tedious and gives only one choice at a time.

Hang up calls are recorded on answering machine, rather than ignored. I HATE that. I have to check the manual to see if this is changeable or not. If not, it is a REAL downer.

I still miss memory dial. Why did they ever get rid of that feature and replace it with a cumbersome phone book?

The message indicator needs to be a number, rather than just a flashing light. After listening to messages, there is no way to tell how many there are still stored on the phone unless you listen again. Inconvenient.

Overall, not my best experience with Panasonic, but I still would not buy any other brand - I have had the best luck with Panasonic cordless phones.

very good phone 2008-04-10
I have this phone for about a week now. I am very happy with my purchase. I had so much interferance and static with my old phone, so I decided to buy this one. So far the sound is crystal clear from everywhere in the house. I like the fact that the keypads light up.
Here are some pros and cons.
Pros:
very clear sound no statics.
keypads light up.
pretty easy to navigate for most parts.
very light phone compare to the old ones.
Has some interesting feautures.
Cons:
The light on the handset is rather bright at night time so I put a sticker on it so it won't light up my room.
the caller id display does not display name and number at the same time, first you see the name and then the number.
To turn off the taking caller id was a pain in the neck. First you have to turn it off on the handset and then on the answering machine, I had to call panasonic to figure out how to turn it off from my answering machine. very annoying feauture.
The ring tone selection is not the greatest.
But overall this is one of the best phones out there. So I give it a 5 star.
