Overrated

I guess she's the current MTV darling. If you've never heard better I guess she's ok. Michelle Branch is much better, so is Natasha Bedingfield, and that's just listing who you'll find on MTV , which isn't saying much.
The songwring is adequate..the instruments are nothing great.
Her voice is nothing to write home about but she's about as good as Sheryl Crow..
"Love on the Rocks" is one tune I might play, the others rely too much
on lyrics and major label promotion.
I'd like to like this album for the lyrics but her voice and the arrangements underwhelm.
Gotta get me to VEGAS!

Great Voice, Awesome musician!! She's kinda like a mix between Sheryl Crow and Jewel with Alicia Keys piano skills!! Great albulm that, after a few weeks, has become one of my favorites to listened to all the way through.. Give Sarah a try!!! Nice album to Chill to!!
A Gem! 2008-05-14
What a Great double-cd set. I bought this on the strength of the "I Don't Want to Write You A Love Song" single and was pleasantly surprised by Sara's voice range and songwriting ability. She's got a great voice and BOTH discs are still in my CD changer!
Fiona Apple style... 2008-05-01
This album is truly brilliant. I am a long time Fiona Apple fan and although Sara is not quite as brooding and profound as Ms. Apple she certainly has some very clever lyrics and great catchy piano based pop/rock. This album also has a greater appeal to the general population i'd say. I'm excited to see what she does in the future.
The best little voice around! 2008-04-13
MY FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME... and that's saying a lot! I'm a fickle music listener and I'm never faithful to one artist. I tend to like one or two songs off of every cd, but not with Sara. I LOVE EVERY, SINGLE SECOND OF EVERY, SINGLE SONG! Ms. Bareilles is so talented and I can't wait to hear more from her. You won't regret getting this one! Plus the second disc is such a bonus! Oh and jump at the chance to see her live, she's even more amazing in concert!

Well i bought the normal Cd and thought it was the best thing ever. Now theres a bonus CD edition and ITS WORTH IT EVEN MORE. she is by far my favorite singer ever and i will be seeing her THIS WEEK! i hope to get this CD signed by my love

There's something about Sara Bareilles that works for me. I can't seem to get tired of this CD. It just keeps getting better.

This is one of my favorite CDs. Her songs are different and intersting and witty. her piano work is lovely and the songs flow nicely.

I guess my title says it all...
I instantly detected the Fiona Apple heavy piano chords
and general style
The only thing is, which is a problem for me personally, she is wayy more happy than Fiona...
I recommend this album, but if you are a huge Fiona Apple fan like me,
it would be hard to avoid the comparison between the two.
And, as all trainees are - she needs to keep on training.
Excellent CD! 2008-06-13
This is my favorite CD so far this year and I think will probably stay at that rating for quite some time. It's a mix of Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan and Sara Bareilles' own style in there. I would recommend this CD to anyone. Give it a try!
