I bought this because I have 2 cats, 1 dog and 3 children that track in dirt constantly. We don't wear shoes in our home (Asian household)and I am very sensitive to things that touch the bottom of my feet. I got tired of taking out my broom and sweeping it up and then having to clean up that last strip of dirt that couldn't get into the dustpan. I looked at the Dirt Devil Broom and found many of the negative reviews helpful in making my choice in purchasing this. It does what it says. It picks up dirt. Little messes-okay! Not a whole box of cereal. And if you are using this to vacuum for more than 20 minutes you might as well get out your regular vacuum. Nice product. Nice looking and worth the price. It also comes with a nice 2-year warranty. You won't be disappointed if you plan on using this for light clean up.

Better than...

This is a pretty good little cordless vacuum, albeit somewhat loud.
I like the fact that it doesn't tip over when you stand it up. And the energy star feature is a plus.Easy to clean & maneuvers well. So much better than my last cordless.

I use this throughout my entire house. I have 2 Australian Shepherds. I also take care of a couple of other dogs when my friends go out of town. This little vacume does a great job and in the smallest places. Well worth the price.

Not sure why it's getting such raves. It a FAIR vac

I've had this vac about a month and half. I use it in my kitchen and guest bathroom, on a vinyl floor and small area rugs. It does pull in pet hair and light weight crumbs, but it's not very good on heavier stuff, like dry dog food. If you turn it on, after a full charge, and put your hand under the vac, even stick your fingers inside the vac tub, you can see that it is NOT very powerful, hence can't pick up heavier objects. Maybe those who find it does pick up these things are using the vac with the brushing rotating, which would push the objects up into the vac tub, but damage some floors. I have a dust buster hand vac, and when I put my hand under the nozzle of that vac, I can feel the pull; and it does pick up the heavier things on the floor that the stick vac does not. I was disappointed in the performance. I thought for the price It should have been at least as powerful as my hand vac. I get so tired of bending over to quick vac the kitchen floor. One day I will find a stick vac that can actually pick up spills on my kitchen floor.

This is the best auxiliary vacuum I've found after years of searching for something powerful, cordless, and nice-looking enough to keep in plain view. I've had this for a couple of weeks and keep it on its charging base in a corner of my bedroom, mainly for quick pick-ups of scattered litter on bathroom floor after kitties use their box, and for fur on the carpet. It is loud (loud enough to scare my miniature schnauzer out of the room)- but sound insulation was not a priority. Important selection criteria all fulfilled: effective suction, ease of use & emptying of bin, ability to work on both bare floor and carpet, lightweight, and cordless. Easy enough to remove accumulated hair from the beater bars, and empyting and replacing the soil cup is literally a snap. Highly recommended.

I love this little vacuum! With 3 cats, a dog and a child my floor is constantly a mess! I was basically looking for something like a dustbuster on a stick that I wouldn't be taking apart constantly to clean fur off of the roller brush.
This vacuum does an awesome job! I can go around my whole house on a charge, and it does a great job cleaning hardwood and carpets! It has a brush roller that you can turn on and off, and when it does get a little fur on it, it is easy to clean off. I had previously bought the Swivel Sweeper and gave up! I spent so much time removing fur from the rollers it was pointless!
This is a great little vacuum for the everyday clean ups. It's still not a substitute for a big plug-in vacuum, but it does a darn good job! I would definitely recommend this vacuum, especially if you have lots of pet fur and crumbs.

Not all it's cracked up to be

I purchased this as a quick picker upper between "big" vacuuming. I have about 1200 sq ft of hard tile, pergo and a couple area rugs. It was not able to pick up popcorn kernals, dried leaves and grass, a staple, tiny lego or my son's rubber bands he uses for his braces(which end up everywhere!) . It also had a hard time getting bigger dust bunnies and strands of my very long hair. It worked decent enough on the hard surface but I had to repeatedly go over the same spots on the thin pile area rug. After cleaning my shredder,I used the vacuum to suck up some shredding that got on the floor. It wasn't much, but enough to plug it up at the top where it goes into the dust cup. It certainly cleans out easy enough and charges in no more that 6 hours, which is nice. If you have kids or animals forget about this one! I am still searching.....

After reading the above reviews, I purchased one of these vacs at my local Best Buy.

I have used this vac once, but I was amazed at how long the charge lasted, and the amount of dirt and stuff it picked up. In fact I did my entire apartment (tile floors) and the charge had not run down yet.

I need a cordless vacuum that does not weigh too much and is easy to push and swivel because of my disability. This vac fits everything except the weight.

I really hope this vac lasts a long time for me.
