Customer Reviews
This thing sucks.

I got it for free, packaged with a saw. That's what is worth - nothing.
The problem is that it just doesn't sand anything. The end with the sandpaper doesn't vibrate enough.
Waste of Money

I agree with the other two reviewers of this item. This product doesn't even deserve one star.
I purchased this sander for refinishing the wood windows in our family room. The Ryobi palm sander I already own worked great for the larger flat spots, but I was looking for something smaller to get into the tighter places. When I turned on this detail sander the vibration was felt more in my hand than on the end that held the sand paper. Needless to say it really didn't do anything over what I could have done with a sanding block in my hand. I haven't used it past the first 30 seconds I had it on and went back to the Ryobi palm sander and oven cleaner to take the remaining paint off. I will be returning this Detail sander back to the store!
Used once, being returned ASAP

Terrible. No power. Sandpaper on a putty knife works better. Returning to the store ASAP. Waste of money. Try the Black & Decker Mouse instead.
Elbow Grease Works better

I do a lot of refinishing, and I got this because I was forever going into tight places with sandpaper-on-a-stick.
At first this looked good. I'd thought I'd get electric power behind me into tight places. Boy, was I disappointed. Three reasons why:
1. This tool is terribly underpowered, and does not sand worth a darn.
2. It really did not get into tight spots like I thought it would. The elbow gets in the way. In fact, doesn't get into many more places than my Ryobi Palm sander does.
3. Sanding sheets are expensive, several packs of assorted grit almost cost as much as the tool.
I used this detail Sander for a while, and then put it in the 'garage sale' pile. I think my wife got three bucks for it.
Worst sander ever developed

I purchased one of these sanders from a home center as an "in a pinch" purchase, and found that all it really is is a piece of sandpaper on an electric stick. You could very literally attach a triangle of sandpaper to a tongue depressor and you'd get a more effective tool. It might work as a personal massager, but thats really the only use I could imagine this thing ever having.
If you need a detail sander, you'll be far better off buying a grossly overpriced fein multimaster than to waste the minimal amount of money this one costs. It only got the one star because the program wouldn't allow me to give it zero.
DO NOT BUY THIS!!

I bought this to refinish some trim around the house. Got it home and turned it on and realized that the handle was the only part that vibrated - not the sanding pad!! Talk about a piece of junk!!!!
Not worth the effort of even buying

I have spent LOTS of money on hand tools in my day, and I make gallery furniture on the weekends. This is the least useful tool I have ever spent money on- even though it was quite cheap. It was actually faster to sand by hand, then to use this tool

Great Buy

This is a great tool. I can easily get into cornered areas and it works fantastic for finish work. The two things I can think of that it is a little difficult to switch on and off due to the dust protective covering on the switch. Make sure this is unplugged when you leave your work area. The other thing is the noise, it is a little bit loud, but for the price this was a great buy.
