Editorial Review
Imagine you are Sherlock Holmes trying to catch a thief in late 19th century London. Arsene Lupin is a young French burglar who comes to town with one goal - defy Scotland Yard and Sherlock Holmes. He will steal five objects of great value in five days from famous sites around London. Throughout the game, you will meet more than 40 typical characters from the Victorian era who you can interact with, while uncovering hundreds of clues and objects, which you will need to use, and combine to complete your investigation. The handy game history reminds you at any time of the number of documents found, statements taken or events surrounding the story. Famous sites such as the British Museum, the National Gallery and even Buckingham Palace are faithfully reproduced down to the finest detail. Take a closer look at hundreds of works of art, objects, sculptures and paintings while listening to personal commentaries from Sherlock Holmes about the work.

In-depth Story and Lots of Gameplay 2008-09-16
The latest installment in the Sherlock Holmes software mysteries does not fail to disappoint! This game is very long and in-depth, and provides quite a bit of gameplay. The puzzles are clever, and you're never left wondering what to do next. It is definitely challenging in parts, but the curiosity of what will happen next keeps you moving along. I highly recommend this to any Sherlock Holmes fan. This was wonderfully different from the previous release, "Awakened," which was very dark and gruesome in parts.

a drag 2008-08-02
I got about half way through. I really enjoyed it up until this one point. I had to keep figuring out the same kind of thing over and over again. The fun was totally drained out of the game at this point. It was a burden.

I never finished it. I have these games for my enjoyment...not for tedious tasks that drag on and on and on and on.

I will read all the reviews of the next Sherlock Holmes before I buy another one. This game became SO bad that I did not finish it.

Point and click game for the most part. 2008-07-31
Some of the puzzles are quite obscure in their reasoning. Sheer luck, rather than Sherlock is required in many scenerios.

Long, boring and difficult 2008-07-30
This is a very long and tedious game. Your need a walkthrough to know what to do. Mouse control spins around. Graphics are the only good thing.I'm probably not even going to finish the game as it is so boring. Not many puzzles either.

Not the typical point-n-click story game 2008-07-20
Sherlock Holmes Nemesis features a completely new game engine that is not the usual Point-n-Click game. Instead of playing from a third person viewpoint, it is more like a First person shooting game. To others, this may be a bonus, but for me, who hates first person shooting games (they make me dizzy), I found it very disappointing.

On the plus side, this game presents great graphical details. The background music is quite pleasant and suited to the intrigue nature of the game.

As mentioned by other reviewers, most of the puzzles are too complex and sometimes involves pixel hunting. Not very rewarding.

Quirky, funny, a blast! 2008-07-05

Sherlock Holmes Nemesis 2008-07-03
Just loved this game. The graphics were very good and the puzzles were interesting. Loved the story line and the way it was set up.

Good story line with 2008-06-29
This game offers a good story line with plenty of interaction with the game characters. The game puzzles are in some instances very hard (Be advised have a walkthrough handy). My particular game was in some areas difficult to control mouse movement and camera movement (Herky-jerky). With patience I was able to get through the difficulties. Because of the mouse/camera problems I will rate the game a B-.

Great Scenery and Good Mystery 2008-06-28
I was really impressed with the wonderful grafics. The inside of the museum with all the pictures was awesome. Good game.

Complete Letdown 2008-06-09
Out of the gate, for those of you who loved the first part of this adventure "Sherlock Holmes: Awakened" - this second chapter is `nothing' like the first. In `Awakened' the storyline and mood was very dark (something that I look for in a point and click game), this second/sequel is nowhere near dark and though it's really fun to bump into some of the old characters from the first game and stroll through familiar area's, "Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis" just didn't have the flair that the first game did. I stopped playing half way through (even with a walkthrough) and started playing "Darkness Within".
1) The scripting & dialog were very good, the voice acting was well done
2) Graphics performed well and the environment had zero glitches
3) Overall performance of the game to include installation was solid
4) Storyline was good but was too cat & mouse with the villain; not enough horror. Was expecting a darker theme due to the first chapter of the 2 part series, nixed a star for this.
5) Clues, hints, and adaptability to continue game play was harsh (for sure requires a walkthrough; nixed this star due to many clues being too obscure.
