So what is an E-Drive? E-Drive is an Electric outboard motor that is designed for Pontoon boats. On many of our Lakes and waterways, emission, speed, and noise restrictions prohibit the use of gasoline outboards. Minn Kota's answer the E-Drive! The 2hp motor delivers speed and power needed to move a pontoon with confidence through wind and heavy chop. The built in Maximizer technology ensures that you'll have the go "Anywhere Anytime" run time to get where you want to go, and home again without worry. It is designed with a bolt on transom bracket that has a power tilt built right into it. The Electronic Throttle control mounts either binnacle or side-mount at the cockpit. Ultra responsive throttle lever has forward, neutral, or reverse positions. It includes a key lock-out, trim switch and real-time battery gauge. 48volt system is required.

Great motor

This motor is a bit pricey but probably worth it. It is reasonable easy to install. The wiring and controls are well thought out. It preforms well. The one unexpected cost that I did not forsee was the need of a new battery charging system. I went from a 24 volt system which used a 2 bank charger to this new 48 volt system which requires a 4 bank charger.
