Died after 30 days

The external storage worked great and died after 30 days. With Tivo, you lose most recordings as it puts recordings on both. Have opend an RMA with WD and will see how a replacement works.
Easy to connect and use

Had no problem connecting this to my TV and expanding my capacity to 85 Hours HD and over 800 hours SD. My new TiVo required a software upgrade but that was also easy.

Great product was a breeze to hook up and install. extends my TiVo nicely would have bought a 1Gb if it was offered.
Works like a champ 2008-09-30
Mine showed up yesterday and I hooked it up with no problems at all. I shut down my Tivo, as instructed, then hooked up the drive and power and restarted the Tivo. The only annoying part of this is that the Tivo will request to restart itself again, a good 5 minute process, but once this is done, the drive is good to go.
I'm now set with over 80 hours of HD recording and tons of digital hours. This is a very good buy for this storage device and hooks up to the Tivo 3 effortlessly.
One word of caution, that is not disclosed in the product description. *This drive is not portable.* Once it is paired with your Tivo 3, it needs to stay there. Removing it will erase all of your recordings and you'll have to either re-pair it, or move it to another Tivo 3. This obviously has something to do with the paranoia over DRM as well as the way Tivo breaks up the recording.
Other than that one warning, I'd say this product is highly recommended! Good price, easy installation.

Greatest piece of hardware I have ever purchased. I was forever getting "not enough space" warnings when trying to record HD programs. That is now gone. I didn't even need a "geek" to install it for me. Anyone with a Tivo HD DVR should make this a must have! You also have much more time to retrieve programs that you screwed-up and deleted.

Beware Motorla Users on Cox 2008-09-22
THe product seemed to be great. I ordered it after a Cox support rep told me the HD DVR by Motorola would support it but it does not and it screwed up my box so bad that Cox came to replace it luckily at no charge
Worked as stated 2008-09-21
I have to say I was a little worried if this was going to work like it stated, but it worked like a charm. The first time I hooked it up to my DVR SA Explorer 8300 it didn't show any difference so I unpluged everything and re did it and my DVR went from 75% to 9% and that is so great that is a lot of Football I get to record now. I dont know if it matters but I have Charter Cable and with a SA Explorer 8300.

Good Buy to boost up you HD-TiVo 2008-09-15
Great product, nice design and blends right in with the team of electronics under the television. I had no problem hooking this drive up to my TiVo HD! Only wish was that there could have been a 1TB version available.
