Wealth of ideas but many need prep 2008-09-20
My son enjoyed some of the activities in the toddler book, so I got this one too and had about the same reaction. There's a lot of good ideas in here to keep kids busy, but a lot of them need prep time. None of the activites they list are hard to do, but there aren't a lot of "spur of the moment" ideas. The best thing to do is to read the entire book, pick out 3-5 activities you think your child(ren) would like, and put the materials for those activities in a set place, like a box or a bin. When the kids get bored with those activities, go back to the book and start over. All in all I like this book series, it's got a lot of great ideas. Just expect to lay a little groundwork...

Busy Book 2008-07-14
I love this book. There are so many great activities that are easy to do to help keep your preschooler busy. I also have the toddler book and love that one. Great books!

Full of Great Ideas! FUN!! 2008-07-10
I bought this book to help my younger children, ages 4 & 2, keep busy as I homeschooled the older ones. The activities were simple enough for them to do and very fun. We do several different activities a week and my children love it. The older ones try to join in, too! Most activities asked for ingredients that are common around the house so I didn't need to spend additional money accumulating ingredients. I recommend this book to anyone who has run dry of ideas to keep your preschooler busy.

Great book and great ideas 2008-06-16
Love this book and it provides a lot of great ideas. I use this book to plan play dates, birthday parties, and to plan fun things to do while traveling and staying with family. We use it a lot and my daughter (and friends) really enjoy the projects. Some of the painting projects are ambitious, but the few that we tried were great fun.

great ideas 2008-04-24
This book is well written and has great ideas, hundreds of them. Some are real simple and there aren't any pictures, I find myself reading it thinking "why hadn't I though of this before?" some activites are just a few minutes each. I had checked it out at the library before purchasing. Would reccommed this book.

Offers great ideas 2008-02-24
I bought this book to survive our long winer season we are having here in Boston. This book offers a lot of good tips to keep our toddlers and preschoolers busy.

THERE IS HOPE!!! 2007-12-10
I'm only 100 pages into The Preschooler's Busy Book, but after the first few pages I knew there was hope for me and my daughter facing the winter months indoors together. I took the author's advice and brought along a "Busy Bag" on a shopping trip we took with my mom and grandmother. I packed books, markers, some bracelets, and magnets that she could play with on a small cake pan while I pushed her in a stroller. It was truly a life-saver. She is 3 and a half, so we are just entering this new stage of boredom and inquisitiveness, so I cannot wait to try some of the great ideas I've found in the book. I also purchased the Arts & Crafts Busy Book, because she loves craft projects, but my imagination is limited. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter are really great too and make you think about the joy of motherhood. The size of the book is nice and compact, not too big to bring along somewhere to read. It's also convenient that you don't have to spend a lot of money on these activities. Most items can be found around the house. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I haven't completely finished reading the book yet, but I anticipate it to be a five-star review overall.

LOVE this book!! 2007-11-25
I bought the toddler's busy book when my son was two years old and we loved it so much that I decided to purchase this one a year later. We've done most of the activities in this book and my now four year old still loves it. He will go and grab the busy book from the shelf and ask if we can find him something to do! Must have for all moms of preschoolers!
