that
promote learning maths

Here are some general
strategies that will help your children incorporate maths learning
into their lives.
Look for Maths
everywhere:
Make maths real by finding it in the
most unlikely places!! The things around us have maths in them and
you can use these things to develop children's sense of number,
space, measurement (volume, width, length height and time). If you
show your children that Maths is a natural and important part of
life, they won't treat it as something to be scared of and hence the
attitude that develops towards maths is a positive one.
Remembering that children look
to adults for guidance in life, it is only natural to expect that if
we show an enthusiasm towards maths (and learning in general), so to
will our children.
Encourage
'hands-on' hobbies and activities that naturally involve maths.
This could include assembling kits,
chemistry sets, cooking, building, making models etc, woodwork etc.
