Education by Design Privacy Policy
At Education by Design we understand
that your right to privacy is very important. We recognise
that if you choose to
provide us with personal information about yourself, you are
trusting us to act in a responsible manner. This trust
is very important to us and we believe that the information should
only be used to help us provide you with a better service.
Protecting your
privacy
We will not provide any of your
personal information to other companies or individuals.
In the event you purchase something
via credit card from our site, we delete your credit card numbers
from our files once we have authorised the number with the
appropriate authorisation and processing companies. These companies
will not use this information for any other purpose and will not
disclose the information to anyone else.
What
personal information do we collect?

your surfing habits.
Our
Special Needs Newsletter
If you sign up for the Education by Design electronic
newsletter or e-mail list, we ask you for your name, e-mail
and country. Name and country are optional, but we collect it
to give us an idea of where our visitors are from, so that our
newsletter is more relevant. Each e-mail will include
instructions on how to "unsubscribe" from that list.
Children's
Privacy
StoryTeller
In our StoryTeller pages, we
ask that the child submitting the story provide their first name
(only), age, town and country, though this information is optional.
When a story is submitted to our site, it is stored on the database
and emailed to us. We do not pass this information on to any third
party.
Stories published on our site
become the property of Education by Design and we reserve the right
to publish it. The copyright of all stories remains with the author.
Education by Design encourages
parents to go online with their children. Parents should understand
the sites their kids are visiting and which sites are appropriate.
There are parental control tools available such as browsers and
filtering software that prevent children from accessing
inappropriate sites. Children should never give out personal
information on the Internet, such as name, address, phone number, or
name of school, unless supervised by a parent or responsible adult.
Look for a privacy policy on a web site and find out how information
collected from children is treated. Parents should teach their
children to look for sites that display a privacy policy.
Tell a
friend
Email addresses used for 'tell a friend' are not stored
on our site under any circumstances.
Links to
other sites
We also provide links to third
party sites. Since we do not control those web sites, we encourage
you to review the sites first and the privacy policies posted on
these third party sites
