Welcome. The art you see here was created by students with intellectual disabilities and range in age from 5 - 18. Minimal assistance was given to students so that they create a piece of art that truly reflects them. The pieces shown are a small sample of their work. The art is framed and sold at fund-raising events held by the school. At the last event, between 40 and 50 pieces were sold. In 1998, art work created by a student received a commendation in a local art show and this year (1999) a piece created by a 12 year old boy received a second placing in the "Grade 6" category at the YWCA Community Festival Art Competition. The art work is entered into open or age level categories, with no mention of the students disability.
