Title: The Country Road
I galloped along the country road,
Happy to be in such a good mood.
Along the way I saw many sights,
Along the way I saw many heights.
I saw farmer Joe,
Who got little doe.
But was able to provide for his family of
three,
And once in a while, a suprise for me.
I went on past the beautiful sounds of the
creek,
Where I sometimes found people who
were meek.
The creek was clear with lots of rocks and
fish,
Whih are also lovely in my mums
homemade dish.
I met a handsome young cowboy on a
horse,
But was astonished to see that he lookes
remorse.
The sun was hurting my tanned skin so I
had to dart,
It will be a long journey for the houses are
so far apart.
The little specks of vegetation are cery
sparse,
With little clumps of dry, yellow grass.
Only a few small plants and bails of hay,
The farmesr will just have to wait until
May.
There is little rain and the farmers are in
despair,
With all the crops drying out there is little
to spare.
I wonder how long the shearing
buisiness and hay shed will last,
I wonder how long until the dams
become a thing of the past.
I am about to reach my home called Lush
Logs,
As I pass farmer John with his
sheepdogs.
I can see his wife and children helping,
All busy with the last lot of harvesting.
As I have always done, I follow the trail
made by an expensive jeep,
I observe in our paddock all the horses,
cattle and sheep.
As they lie down under the nice cool
shade,
And drink from the dam that was
handmade.
