Title: The Power to Be Me

Note: I wrote this for my Language Arts class to be entered in the Reflections program. The theme for the contest was 'I hold in my hand...' I hope you enjoy it.

The Power to Be Me

I hold in my hand
My future,
Past and present;
The power to be me.
I hold in my hand
My thoughts,
Feelings and fears;
My hopes and dreams.
I hold in my hand
My judgement,
My laughter and tears;
My inner strength.
I hold in my hand
The power to go on,
To be strong and have faith;
I can do anything.
I hold in my hand
So many things and
Not all can be described.
I hold in my hand
The power to be
Who I am and
The things I will become.
I hold in my hand
My future,
Past and present;
The power to be me.
No one can take it away.

A Storyteller Topic - Kids Are Poets Too
Poetry is a great way to express yourself, whether you're feeling down or on top of the world. There are many different types of poems and remember, they don't have to rhyme.
