Title: Song Quest by Katherine Roberts.
Song Quest is based on the Isle of Echoes after a shipwreck. The final years are requested to look for treasures. This when the rebel Kherron runs away more on him in a minute. Rialle is the prettiest best singer in the year and is very close to Frenn whose voice squeaked causing him to be an orderly. Rialle hears the Merlee( aka fish people, mermaids, etc..)and is sent to make them let tghe ship through only thiongs twist and it's good v evil.
This book is for 12+ I recommend it for people who like singing, adventure, myths and anyone willing to read it. This is the first book in the Echorium Sequence it's follow up based twenty years later is the Crystal Mask.
Give it a go. The first chapter may be a little different but stick with it.
