Title: The Secret Passage (Chapter 4)

Chapter 4: 'The Best One of All!'
'Crystal?' said Professor Elm. 'There's still one left, but there's something quite shocking about it's behavior.' He chuckled at his joke. 'But if you really want it.' He pressed a button. A Poké Ball with a black and yellow striped lightning bolt on it popped up on a platform. The room glowed with a white light. The light faded. The Poké Ball was now in my hand. On the platform, a little yellow Pokémon with big, kite shaped ears and a big black splotch on the tip of each one was looking at me. 'Pichu,' it squeaked. 'Oh!' I said. 'It's so cute, it's the best one of all!' 'You'll see,' said Professor Elm. 'Oh!' said Erika. 'I'll trade my Cyndaquil for it!' 'No,' I said. ' I like my Pokémon.' 'Give me that Pichu!' Erika shouted. Pichu started to cry. 'Now look what you did, stupid! You made it cry!' I hissed at Erika. 'You're so stupid you don't know that Pichu is a baby Pokémon! Loud noises scare little kids! Pokémon, too!' I picked up Pichu and cradled it in my arms. 'Don't be scared, Pichu,' I said. 'Loud noises won't hurt you. But sometimes they're scary.' To my surprise, Pichu's cries turned to sniffles. It snuggled close to me, and in a few minutes it fell asleep. 'Cool,' I said. 'Cyndaquil's better,' said Erika. 'Better than Chikorita, Totodile and Pichu put together. Wouldn't you like to have it?' 'Let me think about it. No,' I said quickly, not thinking at all. 'You didn't think about it!' shouted Erika. Pichu woke up at her shouting. 'WAAAAH!' 'Erika! Shut up! STOP SCARING PICHU!' I screamed. 'It's okay, Pichu. 'C mon. Stop crying. Let's go.' We went out the door. I could hear Silver & Nick shouting, 'Wait for us!' I could also hear Erika say, 'Grandpa, why didn't you tell me there was a cute Pokémon? Cuter than any other one?' and Professor Elm answer, 'I only give trainers Pichu if I'm out of all the rest.' Then I heard Erika cry-really loudly. I felt sorry for the parents who had the worst spoiled rotten brat on their hands. Silver, Nick and I came up to a big ledge. 'We could use Chikorita to get up there, Nick,' I said. 'Go, Erika!' Nick shouted. 'You traitor!' I shouted. Nick was blushing. 'Oh, I get it, you love Erika!' shouted Silver. 'Nick and Erika, sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!' I shouted. 'First come love, then comes marriage . . .'said Silver. 'Then comes a baby in a baby carriage!' we chorused. Nick stuck out his tongue and I laughed. 'Forget about it,' I said. 'Let's get going!'
