Chapter 10: Volty: Lost and Found in Two Days
We were walking to Violet City. When we got there, Volty was asleep. It snored loudly. 'I think we should go to the Pokémon Center to let this little guy get some sleep,' I said, then added, 'And that little guy.' I was pointing to Volty and Togepi. We went and healed them. As we walked out, Team Rocket's balloon landed in front of me. 'We'll take that,' said Jessie, plucking Volty from my arms. 'Volty!' I cried. 'We got yer Pichu! We got yer Pichu!' Team Rocket chanted, taunting me by holding Volty over the side of the basket. I grinned, letting Flyer out of it's Poké Ball. 'Flyer, get Volty in your beak before Team Rocket pulls it back in!' I ordered. 'Pid! Jo!' Flyer flew way, way up in the air, and then, swooping down, popped Team Rocket's balloon. 'Flyer!' I yelled. 'Volty!' Flyer flew to the balloon. Volty was not there! Everyone ran around looking for it. Volty was gone! 'The next time I see Team Rocket,' I said, 'I swear I'm going to get back Volty and make them pay back for what they've done.' One day, on our way out of Violet City, a man with a purple Pokémon on his shoulder came up to us and said, 'Does this, by any chance, happen to be yours?' He was holding Volty towards me. 'Volty!' I cried, hugging my Pokémon tightly. 'How can I ever thank you enough?' I asked the man. 'You don't need to thank me,' said the man. 'Gligar and I were glad to help.' We walked from Violet City into some grass. 'Pichu.' 'Pikachu! Kachu.' Volty and Splotchy complained. 'Maybe we should stop and eat,' I suggested. 'Good idea,' said Erika. We sat down and took out what food we had left. It was getting dark. We'd better find some place to crash for the night,' I said. 'Brock, where's the nearest place?' 'The Ruins of Alph,' said Brock. 'It's about four feet away from Pikachu.' 'Then what are we waiting for?' asked Ash. 'Let's get going!'
