Chapter 15: Erika Returns
We had made our way to Goldenrod City, and we were resting in a side alley next to the Department Store. I had almost fallen asleep, when I snapped to attention by the shouts of Squirty and Shelly. I ran out of the alley. Squirty was paralyzed in a little river, and there was a balloon floating above it. 'Team Rocket, of all the times,' I said. Shelly was being held in one of the members arms. Was I seeing things? There was a third member! Erika! She saw me and grinned. 'Never thought I'd move to a life of crime? I figured as long as I needed Pokémon, I'd join a team that I could steal them with.' 'Flyer, get Shelly from Erika, give it to me and then pop the balloon.' The only hard part was trying to get Shelly from Erika, but it did everything right. 'Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off!' shouted Erika. 'Bye, Team Rocket! Don't come back soon!' shouted Silver, waving. I turned to him. 'Should we call Professor Elm and tell him that his granddaughter has taken to a life of crime?' I asked. Silver smiled. 'Basically.' 'It's pointless,' Misty said, startling me out of my wits. 'How do you do that?' I asked shakily. 'Do what?' 'Have the ability to appear out of nothing!' 'Oh. I don't. I just walk up.' 'Okay. You sure can walk quietly, then.' 'Togi!' said Shelly. Misty's Togepi smiled, hopped out of her arms, and went to play with Shelly. 'They sure do get along great,' I said. 'Yeah,' said Misty. 'Why is your Squirtle scared again?' 'I don't know,' I said, running up to Squirty, who was again paralyzed. 'What's wrong?' I looked in the direction that Squirty was staring at, and knew why it was so scared: water was bubbling up in front of us. Out popped Erika's head! 'I'm still going to get your Pokémon!' she shouted. The rest of my team crowded around Erika. 'Yeah right,' I said. 'You're so pathetic, you couldn't catch a dying slug!' 'Now go away,' said Nick. 'Because even though you might not have them, we have Pokémon . . . and we know how to use 'em!' 'Yikes,' squealed Erika, going underwater and swimming away. 'You rule, Nick! She left!' 'Yes, and now I suppose we could go to Bill's house?' asked Brock. 'Bill?' I asked. Continued Soon!
