Title: Faith's Journey: Chapter One: Learning to Live wit
'Faith?' asked my sister, Charity. 'Faith, wake up! It's our birthday!' I
snapped my eyes open. 'Yes it is, sister dearest. Please let me sleep
late as a birthday present.' 'But we get our Pokémon licenses today!'
cried Charity. 'Oh, yeah!' I realized. I jumped out of bed, pulled on my
clothes and ran like lightning downstairs. Charity watched me butter a
piece of toast. 'We're gonna be late!' she shrieked. I shoved the toast
into my mouth. 'Tin shishers tink,' I mumbled through the toast.
Charity looked confused. 'Twin sisters stink,' translated our little
brother, Chris. 'Yes you do, Faith,' Charity replied. 'Now let's get
moving!' She grabbed my wrist and forced me to run down the path to
Professor Oak's Pokémon lab. When we got there, Charity pounded on
the door and took a step back. She smiled excitedly at me. How could
she do that? We had just run half a mile up a hilly path! Professor Oak
opened the door. 'Hello, girls! Come on in,' he said. Charity led me
inside then followed. Professor Oak took us to a room with three Poké
Balls resting on a mechanical table. I picked up one of them. 'I thought
about it, and I choose Squirtle,' I said, letting Squirtle out of its ball.
'Squirtle!' shouted Squirtle, spraying me in the face. 'Return,' I
grumbled, putting Squirtle back in its ball. 'Faith?' asked Charity. 'I'm
learning to live with life,' I said.
